Got a game coming up where the objective is a tower in the center of the board, neither army starts in it. It can hold 30 infantry or 10 monstrous infantry max. How would you hold it, and how would you clear it? I'm thinking about trying to hold it with temple guard (with flaming banner), as 20 S5 predatory fighter attacks with re-rolls to wound is pretty mean. To clear it, I'm thinking of a Slann with Lore of Fire, and a few salamanders. The game is pretty small (1500 to 2000 points, I have not heard exactly how many points yet). Maybe a pair of bastiladons as well, they pack flaming magic missiles. Any ideas?
Just a note: you only gain the reroll to wound when ASSAULTING a building not when defending. Temple Guard is the clear answer to holding a building. You can use skink cohort as a means to get there before the TG can get there and with SnS take some pot shots at your opponent. If Slann is close by assuming a single skink survives you are golden. Then get the TG in and GG
I dont have experience with that scenario so maybe Im wrong with the rules. - Saurus Oldblood on Arabian Carpet & Armour of destiny.. Get there and gain stubborn while defending the building (I may be wrong here). Your BSB should be in range to aid him. Wait for the next of your army to hold the ground.
Templeguard with skavenpelt banner 30 attacks from ten guys at WS 4 S 5 is hard to beat. Add in ice shard here or there and you can be removed.
I think you mean "can't" I did that the other day (minus the skavenpelt). What I really like about Saurus in a building is everyone can Predatory Fighter
Yeah cause only 10 can fight It gets really funny when you get Birona's and Speed of light off. And thank you for the correction I was typing faster than i was thinking. My friend tried to walk his vampire lord and ghouls into the building he missed his dispel there were undead corpses EVERYWHERE!!!!
