Discussion Wealth Standards and Life´s Quality at Skink´s Society

Regards fellow people.

As i dont express myself in english properly (at least not yet), i will ask shortly ¿Can be the average lizardmen (mainly skinks) being considered richer or poorer than common peoples of other factions? ¿How wealth can be measured, considering the cultural context of the lizardmen?

Now my long explanation:
Few days ago i was thinking about the concept of wealth and the average life´s quality among the races and factions.

Of course, i supossed the Empire and Bretonnia as stratified feudal societies,based in the original concept of medieval France and the Hasburg´s Empire (a lot of opressed peasants and few aristocraths).
But regarding our favourite faction (lizardmen?), i had problems to define the economical status of average skink peasant, craftsman or trader.

Then my questions is related to the economical status of lizardmen inhabitants and how that status is related to the average life´s quality.
I guess that, as ancient mesoamericans, they are supossed to be agrarian societies ( i can´t imagine an entire urban population being feed only by hunters).But, unlike the humans, skinks or saurus are never represented as unhealthy or undernutritioned. Miniatures also carry some golden jewels like rings on the shoulders (althought it could represent wood pieces).


Taking historical references, meanwhile i was in Chichen Itza, turist guide explained me that daily life of mayans farmers were soo harsh as theirs europeans partners, and that the average life expectency were only 30 years. I understand that life expectency were low in the whole world during that age.
But lizardmen are not mayans, they are not even humans and live in a fantasy continent called Lustria. I guess that change all the rules.

I think Skinks and Lizardmen in general are a wealthy breed, they have access to precious metals and gems and they probably trade these for goods they need.

I would expect them to have hunters and farmers growing a variety of food sources, kept animals for meat etc.

To be honest, I think the anwser to your question would be neither as none of them really have an economic status as an individual. Resources seem to just be given to whoever needs it. None of them seem to amass any real quantities of food, gold or trinkets. They're allowed to wear little trinkets on their person, but these seem to mostly just be functional equipment, or magical wards meant to bless whomever is carrying them. So none of them really own anything of significance. Everything's there for the great plan, and should the great plan require skink # 34982 to give his bracelet ot skinks #234012 he'l do it without a care in the world and get a new one from the skink jeweler. Similarly, none of them really hog any resources, everything seems to be shared. The only way to get even less of an economic status would be if they were a hive-mind, currently they're still individuals and will still have a favorite weapon or favorite feather hat. But that's about it..

I think that individual skinks gather trinkes and ornaments and the like as they live. A newly spawned skink priest will merely be given the basic instruments of his station. A skink priest that's been around for a while might have found some magical trinkets or build himself a superiour magical staff or perhaps a slann has deemed him worthy of having some magic hat or some such and in that way "own" more and better stuff than the fresh spawn. But that's about it. I don't think they care much for luxury so I don't think they do much in the sense of bigger houses or anything like that.

Everyone gets enough food to eat the choicest pieces of meat, the freshest fruits, the proverbial cream of the crop goes to the top ranks and highest performers. Besides food, high performers could get a sleeping spot closest to the fire or get assigned the plumb chores. I can see Saurus warriors giving the unit standard
