    Hey guys,
I am very new to WH (as in I'm gonna buy my first supplies soon) and already have tons of ideas for my lizards. The thing is: since I don't own any colors yet and they are quite expensive I wanna plan ahead what colors to buy. Do you guys know any sites where I might find color schemes telling me which colors were used?
The colors and materials I plan on using are:

standard (GW) turquoise for the saurus
bones, not too white, I like them a little dirty
very light gold or darker bronze, not sure on this one yet
    wood
jade (compare GW Saurus Sunblood shield)
marble (got tips for that one from Chicken Lips)
    stone

Any tips would be much appreciated!

    Google,how-to-paint-citadel-miniatures-lizardmen-pdf

You can download the full book and on page 4 it has the colours GW use to paint their scheme.

How experienced are you at painting? I ask because if your a beginner you won't need so many paints.

That's a great already, thank you!
I painted a few minis over a decade ago with a friend who collected vampire counts. I do think I am quite skilled at painting generally and am also a perfectionist. Of course I will start with a few Saurus or Skinks to get used to painting, but I don't want to half-ass it ;)

Get some pics up when you start, I returned in February after a 20 odd year gap and I'm totally hooked, again!

As a pice of advice, if you are not decided for a specific color reference, allways choose the brightests because they can be make darker really easy by mixing but it is really hard (almort inposible) to make bright collors through mixing
