Hi all, I have seen people doing crafts/modifications using green stuff. What exactly are they? Are they the same as Epoxy Putty(for example from Tamiya)? How many type of epoxy putty are there? I have only used auto body filler putty, which is watery and cannot be shaped by hand. It's hardener ratio is more like 50:1 or 100:1 instead of green stuff's 1:1 During hardening it will be soft and can be easily sliced into the desired shape. I think they are fundamentally different from green stuff, hence the question. Thanks for the info
It;s just 2 part epoxy putty, (also brown stuff and grey stuff) originally this stuff was used by plumbers for fixing leaky pipes. so it's possible to find the same green stuff GW sell in hardware stores occasionally (for a lot cheaper).
"Greenstuff", or as I like to call it, the "stuff of dreams", is actually a type of self hardening epoxy resin, originally designed to repair leaky pipes. The actual tradename is Kneadatite, and you can get it here: http://www.polymericsystems.com/epoxies-adhesives/epoxy-putty-tapes/kneadatite-blue-yellow.htm GW used to sell tiny bits of it in blister packs, but I don't advise buying it this way as you will overpay for it, and it will likely not be very fresh. The older it gets the more likely bits of it will cure and it will not be smooth when you apply it to sculpting projects.
