8th Ed. What to buy for a lizardmen army?

Hello forum! I'm a pretty new lizard men player, but i've owned lizardmen models for as long as i can remember, but when the new book came out, i pulled my **** together and decided to actually play with this glorious race!

My "main" army is skave, but i wan't the lizardmen to be my new masterpiece!

Right now i've got 10 cold riders, 20 saurus, 3 terra dons, gor rok and about 20 skinks. I really want to play with a slann mage and temple guard combo (this will probaly be the next thing i buy) and i'm not sure if i actually want skinks for my army or if i just want to roll with saurus warriors and beat the living crap out of everything.

So my question to the forum is, what should i get for my lizardmen army? I will not be playing competetive, I'm a casual player, and i will mostly be playing agains Ogre kingdom, WOC and Dwarfs!

and also what is your thought about the terradons?

I'd say the most important thing for letting you experiment is 2-4 units of some combination of Terradon Riders and Chameleon Skinks. There are a lot of juicy warmachine targets in our army (even M4 saurus) and you have to be able to shut them down; you don't have to use terradons/chameleons, but those will definitely do the trick while you're figuring out your strategy.

Running Saurus infantry is fine, but you'll need something fast and heavy to guard flanks and close in on the enemy. Fortunately, the book is full of options for just such a role.

Uhhhh....2 stegadons. Minimum. Maybe 3, if you like smashing people's faces.

Should have like 20 regular skinks for skirmishing as redirecting speed bumps. Not necessary but really helpful as small drops to force them to deploy most of their army first.

Slann and TG are a must. Other than that? Preference. Salamanders are still awesome, razordons are helpful, and Bastiladon is a nice extra piece to add more monsters and options.

You can use them all! High Magic lets you switch gradually, and has a lot of useful spell to boot.my go to was life before, when we could loremaster it.

You should really avoid tailoring your list; you'll come to rely on it.

Of course, that's pretty easy to say, now, because we don't really need to. Wandering Deliberations (every BRB sig spell) will get you a really diverse toolbox with some good buffs and the searing doom, which is one of our few answers to heavy armor; loremaster of high magic gets you a nice buff and an excellent trump card (arcane unforging) with the ability to grab whatever else you want as you cast.

Of those two I'm not sure which one is better, but they're both really good; I'd definitely try both quite a few times before going back to just rolling four spells from Life or whatever.

Personally I would recommend that you get Tetto'Eko and at least another 20 Saurus Warriors. If you are goingto run the Slaan/Temple Guard I would recommend probably 26 of them.
