Has anyone played against this team? I played my second match ever and got completely obliterated, I know they're not exactly offical but does anyone have any thoughts of what to do against them (Specifically the blunderbuss rectangle of death)

They are a good army because they have both the horde and Elite components of an army. they are still a legal army, just can't be used in US? GT.

Watch out for he earthshaker because when it hits you that unit can't march. use terradons to take out this weapon before long or the dwarves will have even a longer time to shoot at you.

Weren't the blunderbusses only a 12" range, they should not cause to much trouble. just to make sure, bring a EotG for the Ward save.

    Good Luck next time.

Yeah, stay out of range of the blunderbusses.
    Kill war machines
Take lots of skink skirmishers and pew pew them
They are dwarfs, which move three inches.
They are the worst thing in Warhammer.

Well, it's a dwarf with both fast and heavy cavalry, magic, flying monsters and pretty good hoarding possibilities. So I wouldn't say that they are either 'dwarfs' or 'bad'... Sure, m3 ain't that great, but they sure make up for it.

What they do lack is 'normal' shooting. They basically only have hobbos, and they ain't that great. But yea, their war machines are nasty. Whe it comes to their blunderbusses then I'd say try either flank them or charge them with krox or stegadons. they are only good vs blocks, so even skirmishing skinks will do a good job together with sallies.

But no matter what build they use you should try to use your maneuverability to control the board and to deal with his war machines. And never ever put a block in front of his blunderbusses. (c:

Its important to remember that they don't really have the 'dwarfy' elements of the dwarf list, most notably Longbeards, Quarellers, Ironbreakers, Hammerers and Runic Weapons (the things that can actually DO STUFF, as opposed to Warriors, which are just a sponge). CD are far more of an independent list then they seem at first glance. They are more like an O&G list but with much higher Ld and armour.

My advise against Chaos Dwarfs would be; turn them into an army of dwarf warriors, then run rings around them. IE, kill the Earthshaker, Wolf Riders, Bull Centaurs, Bolt Throwers and cripple the Blunderbusses (they only have a 5+ save, drop rocks should be able to kill 6 of them to make them S3) in roughly that order. If you can do that you are now playing a bad Dwarf army, and it should be easy enough to beat them.

A special mention must be made for the Great Taurus. The addition of this thing makes the list pretty unique (Great Taurus =/= Wyvern, its more like a Sun Dragon due to the breath weapon [except the Taurus has a 4+ save]). Assuming you have a Slann, if you see this thing I would really consider Lore of Shadow or Beasts. The thing only has I3 (making pit of shades a must dispel) and won't like you Unseen Lurkering or Beast Cowersing letting you charge it with something.
