ok guys i have been looking to improve my army to larger the variety of models i can feild. So i have read lots of army lists and threads which involve how a SLANN, SALAMANDERS and RAZORDONS can be used and how effective they are. I have the following: 20 Cold One Cav 1 Scar vet on CO 1 Scar Vet on foot 60 Saurus Warriors 40 Skinks 3Kroxigors 2 Stegadons 2 Skink gypsy's/chief Oldblood on Carnoaur So i have been looking to improve my army however i simply do not have the money to buy a load of miniatures. I have simplified the list to a slann, salamanders and razordons which one should i buy, i would like your answer to suite me for all comers.
In my opinion you should get a Slann, unless you really like the Carnosaur model. The Slann is a very effective tool in the Lizardmen army. You have a good amount of infantry and cavalry (even though the cavalry is more of a pointsink than an effective cavalry unit). You could also go with a unit of a couple of Chameleons. With their Scout and Chameleon rules they are very effective warmachine hunters. In my opinion go with a Slann if you want a powerful caster, or if you want to keep the Carnosaur go for Salamanders. Money vs points: A Slann is 32.50 euros while a Salamander + 3 handlers is 20 euros. I usually field 2 units of 2 Salamanders which would be well kind of expensive. The easiest way to play without having the models is proxy. Just use something with the same base (if your opponent is okay with it). Kroxigors are the same base size as the Salamander, and you can use normal skinks as handlers. Thats how I do it
