what undercoat/base color do you reccomend

I am a bit out of practice on my lizzies and about to paint the new skink priest and cant decide if I should undercoat white or black

he will probably be standard lizzie colors but since he is a magic user I will probably due tepok style backscales(purple)

past that not sure what I will do for feathers(could use advice for that as well honestly)
 
I assume by standard lizzie colors you mean blue? If so then thats the color you basecoat your army. With lizzies being 80 percent skin, I find it wise to basecoat them whatever skin color you are using. It will save you time and also prevent extra layers of paint.

Good advice. I primed black then painted baby blue on mine. Priming with blue would have been a much better plan.
