8th Ed. What would YOU like to see in the next army book?

    Fun (or rediculous) or serious ideas, anything to add some flavour to the army or just something that you think we desperately need.

    I'd like to see a return of the sacred spawnings and skink on horned one fast cavalry.

    Razordons should probably get a bit of a buff as it seems like noone is taking them... the risk of rolling a misfire on one of the two dice when you charge seems like too big of a risk and I think they should still fire the one load of missiles and the misfire ones hit the poor little skinks. The idea of them as an anti-charge unit appeals to me though.

    I'd also like to see a new dinosaur similar to an Ankylosaur... http://www.twoguysfossils.com/images/pic_ankylosaur.jpg with a role as a line-holding-tank. I'm thinking a very high toughness, armour save and wounds with an special thunderstomp maybe, but not many attacks

    I thinking something to customize skink chiefs to make them a little more attractive... something along the lines of Wood Elves Spites but with jungle frogs/lizards/monkeys instead.

    I think it's abut time to see another temple city returned to working order... Huatl has been being refounded for 1600+ years according to the army book and Phaux for at least 700...

    anyway, just a bit of fun to pass some of my spare time :)

    I would like to see some fluff on the Southlands or other Lizardman settlements. I started playing with the current army book, and even though I've heard of the Southlands, I really don't know anything about them. This Army Book really doesn't mention anything outside Lustria.

    i would like to see thunderlizard or coatl :)
    and ofcourse our own magic lore!!! ice and water or something like that.
    ability too put a lake or river something like WE puting forest :)
    something that would make a game with lizards more funier and unpredictable. something like blowing up toads that come from the ground (like scropions) that would be fun!
    atleast one good special charecter!!!!
    and one lord kroxigor a good pwning lord he should be :) he would be for char killing as now oldblood isnt good at that compared to dwarf lords or something similer.
    and more flufier stat lines that is kroxigorse the same S like saurus? LOL
    they should be S5 T5 atleast for theyre points.
    some magical warmachine or skink catapult :D

    my idea is to make lizards more interesting than a Slann + salamanders. some variation please.
    And magical lore is a must!! others have them but we are thousands of years older why cant we have them?
    skink priest could choose any lore as theyre not as bad as other lvl2 casters.

    thats should be all :)

    Our own lore would be great, something perhaps for the skinks to choose from instead of always choosing Lore of Heavens. More fluff about the cities would be nice too. They've eluded that each city was designed and built for a very specific purpose and the diagram suggests some sort of heavenly alignment. Something more about the temple cities!

    I would also like to see something like a Coatl too, why should dragons be confined to the elven kind and the Empire? Coatl are basically dragons and it'd be nice to have something that's a fierce as a dragon that can fly.

    Mostly else just fixes like the Slann dicipline of "I'll never take this because I already have a 4+ ward save." And perhaps lower the point costs of some of our special characters. Oh! And if Skaven get a reroll if they roll a one on their 'to hit' roll for their 'reliable' weapons why can't we get a reroll to see if our salamanders and razordons eat their handlers? I mean a handler would probably have worked with the beast long enough to realize when it's getting hungry!

    I'd quite like a geomancy lore, or let skinks choose lore of beasts maybe.

    What about an eternity warden upgrade for any TG unit? and Nakai the Wanderer would be an awesome special character to have!

    I never understood why handlers should get eaten so often, skinks are meant to be fairly intelligent and I don't think other races pack masters/hydra handlers get eaten so why do ours?! and I also never understood why Kroxigor, who I believe were made by the old ones to lug huge blocks of stone about, were the same strength as saurus. Maybe now that S7 doesn't auto kill chariots they'll get buffed

    Definitely the big one for me is returning kroxigors to their proper strength. Or at the very least, it needs to be higher than saurus.

    Razordons obviously need a bit of a boost, and CoC, but really there isn't too much about the book I would change. It works rather well as iti s and most things are worth taking if used properly.

    YES. Strength 5 for Krox! Strength 5 for Krox! Strength 5 for Krox! etc.

    On magic: I think Priests are rightfully confined to heavens. I could see the arguement for expantion to Light/Life/Beasts but not much else (and I don't think they deserve a non BRB lore either).

    Slann however have huge potential. Though it is enjoyable to be the Lore of Life masters, a proper "high/pure/true" magic Lore would be cool.

    Lore attribute - +1 dice, reroll miscasts (cause I assume disciplines will be removed)

    0. A spell replacing the gungan shield on EoTGs now.
    1. A buff - Grants armour piercing, magical attacks and killing blow .
    2. Uranon's Thunderbolt
    3. something
    4. something else
    5. Geomancy - Move some terrain, if an enemy unit is in it they get hurt instead. Powerup: move ALL terrain in range :bored:
    6. Big pulse of death - Something akin to Kroak :D

    I'd like to see Terradons change a little bit. They have a great ruleset for 7th edition, but they are not nearly as awesome as chameleon skinks now.

    Terradons ought to be a bit more fearsome. Maybe give the skink riders spears, and give two attacks to the terradons. In exchange you could get rid of their bait and flee and javelin stuff. Drop rocks needs to stay though!

    I would like to see new models with our new army book. The only ones that really disappoint me are the COld Ones and the fact that we have one model for a Saurus Lord on foot and the Saurus Lord on Cold One... Why can't we have these in plastic?? :jawdrop: Kroxigors same story?

    And I agree, +1 strength to Kroxigors as it should be as well as Getting the Sacred Spawnings back.. It's ridiculous only having one Core h2h Unit and only one Special Unit..

    yes we need krox to be higher strength. i was thinking a skink chameleon chief option would be nice, and definitely a lower point cost for our special characters because we all know that they cost too much for what they do. we also need more banners!!!

    I think they should just change the razordons to no missfires on the stand and shoot, but thats me.

    I'd like to see a buff to saurus In and TG in, so its not an auto butt kick when we get into a fight( losing 4 before we strike is a big butt kick to me)

    A buff to Skinks, as far as some kind of skink lord that doesn't cost 550 points. Southlands list with horned one riders.

    I want a Nakai that I can field from the codex, and TUINCI HUINCI and inxi huinci!!!!!!!! he is still the coolest ever special character

    oh and i realy would like to get lots and lots of magic items becouse we are the oldest living race but we have less magic items then others? lol. i agree that we lost some powers and we dont know how to use them but still we should have more magical items and standarts, and all our infantry could take magic standart, becouse i think lizardmen should be realy realy magical and sauruses with kroxigors should be fighty enought.

    I would like a return to the 6th ed Codex.

    1. Slan immune to miscast. Have multi lores (would love to hand pick spells)
    2. S5 Krox's
    3. 6th ed rules for teradons, 3A at s4.
    4. priest have some lore's to choose form. especially beast.
    5. sacred spawning's.
    6. better magic item's, let's face it for the most magical and ancient race, our magic item's are pathetic. maybe self powered bound spell's, and no more of that one use only crap.
    7. for sallies and razordon's, misfier kills some skink's but other wise hit's normally.
    8. Return of south land, ans skink with bow's.
    9. carnosaur and skink handler's (some thing like the DE hydra) generally lot's of huge dino-stuff in unit's sallies style.

    I don't wanna sound like I'm whining but I'm not happy with how our army plays now at all! I'm not upset about the magic items I think their fine , and honestly I think the special charters are fine just overpriced for what they do for the most part .My big complaint is the saurus they just are not that good, with such low I and a mediocre ws and the reduce in attacks for what they cost they just don't stand up to other good infantry and for the cost its just hard to get your points out of them with out a vet in them, and even then it gets rough .I love what games workshop has done with the magic balancing it out for the most part or at least a lot closer.I just hate that I have to take a decked out slann in a smaller gamer 2250-2000 to be competitive . And I don't mean a tourney army I mean have a chance to win!I just miss the flexibility the lizardmen have had since I've been playing them since way back when (12 years yeah I'm an oldblood) over the years we have had soo many good units and options,today its down to only a couple .A slann of coarse duhhhh lol skink skirmishes are still sweet I don't care what anyone says for their points you can't beat em, and the salamanders which are deff a bit broken in this edition, there just sooo brutal I almost feel bad using them lol. Now many other units have their uses such as terradons and stegs if ur not playing against an army loaded with war machines. But coc is useless so are razadons swarms and kroxigors aren't worth their points compared to other ogre type units , at least till we get a rewrite on the book which is a long way away so not worth worry n bout!one thing I'd like to see added to out book is a monster on its own maybe a giant turtle or even alligator .I do love the coatl the fluff for them is soo cool!!! May the old ones be with you all!

    Base Strength 5 Kroxigor.

    Kroxigor upgrade character. Makes his unit a core choice. Only 1 per army.

    Close combat orientated Monster and Handler, Rare Choice.

    Stegadon Youth, can be added to Skink Cohort units. Skink units with a Stegadon Youth cannot be joined by Kroxigor and vice versa. Skinks are placed either side of Stegadon Youth (just as Skaven are to the Screaming Bell) and gain an extra rank of supporting attacks. Stegadon Youth's gain 1 Attack and 1 Initiative on the charge. If all Skinks within the unit are killed, the Stegadon must take a Monster Reaction test.
    Stegadon Youth Stats: M6 WS3 S4 T5 W4 I3 A6 Ld6

    A souped up kroxigor available as a mount to a skink chief.

    Razordons doing D6 automatic hits, instead of the artillary dice then roll to hit.

    A combat oriented rare choice.

    Giant Terrodon
    Stubborn, Immune to psych, Flying, Terror, 3+ scaly skin

    WS 5 BS 0 M 3 Str 6 T 5 W5 I2 A5 Ld7


    Discipline that makes slanns immune to miscast. They are the ultimate wizards, the fluff goes on and on about how powerful they are and how ancient they are, yet the second the go into battle the appear to forget everything and blow themselves up.

    I'd rather have something like the Giant blowpipes Ancient Stegadons have. d6 hits (2d6 stand and shoot), but with an added misfire type of thing, like rolling snake eyes would be treated as the current misfire.

    Salamanders need to be tuned down. They're awesome and all, but once a unit reaches 'must have' because of it's effectiveness for me it's too much.

    Saurus could only have a need for WS 4 actually. A player shouldn't have to go 'I'm hitting on 3's!? WOOOO' with his elite infantry. Seriously.

    salamanders shouldnt get toned down, becouse theyre just right. if they get toned down we wont have anything to fight againts horde. salamanders are squishy for shooting and cannons stone throwers ect. so they are perfect.

    How to fix the Salamander/Razordon imbalance.

    Salamanders stay mostly the same, but lose march and fire and go to str 3 -2 armor save.

    Razordons work as follows... Each shooting phase a razordon fires 3 shots that always hit on a 4+ regardless of modifiers. The shots are strength 4 and follow the rules for bolt throwers. They will be great against monstrous infantry, heavy cav, and heavy infantry.

    So salamanders will be good for taking out huge horde blocks still, with the panic check and large template. Razordon barbs are now "razor sharp", and can slice through ranks of troops and armor, albeit only at strength 4. Each razor will do D3 wounds as well (like a bolt thrower), which should be scary to lots of dragon riding characters, and possibly the dragons themselves!

    I can't see razordon spines being as big as bolt thrower bolts, although it would be cool to see them pierce ranks (only vs 1wound models tho)

    I'd fix razordons by having a D6 misfire chart e.g...

    1 Razordon eats all handlers (they pissed it off big time!)
    2 Razordon eats D3+1 handlers
    3 Razordon eats 1 handler and does not fire this turn
    4-5 Razordon does not fire this turn (glares evilly at skinks)
    6 Razordon fires (10-D3) shots and D3 skinks are removed as pincushions (some got in the way)

    and when charged Razordons fire 2 artillery dice of shots, but ignore/reroll miscasts

    then you could add the option of having a master handler to reroll misfires/misfire results
