Can anyone recommend any sites, preferably UK based for buying GW minatures?

I have found some with good discounts but they seem to be US based, and therefore I lose the money I would save, in shipping costs.

I don't have a GW store very close to where I live, which means around £10 travel costs to buy minatures in store.

Maelstrom Games & Wayland Games are both good.

Try going to www.google.co.uk rather than google.com and either search UK only or go to the shopping tab and search there.

Amazon can list stuff in order of price after shipping.

Talk to your mates about a group purchase as shipping is often free above a certain amount or at least negotiable.

Finally many of the independent shops are also on ebay and again you can restrict searches to uk sellers.

I often prefer to buy stuff on the internet from people not too far away so a visit can resolve any serious problems.

I was going to try Fat Olaf's store but current project is updating my old O&G army an pump wagons, orc artillery and squigs are all interesting scratch builds and GW don't make mangler squigs.

If you are in th UK or EU, definitely Maelstrom Games and/or Wayland Games. Wayland prices are cheaper, but Maelstrom has free shipping, so they work out about the same in price usually. Keep in mind that at the moment both have massive backlogs of orders and will take a while to ship as they sort through them. GW has brought in a new draconian policy disallowing them from shipping outside the EU, so all of us in the southern hemisphere rushed to put in a last order rather than paying literally double the price in Aus GW.

If you are outside the EU and UK, Wayland has found a loophole somewhere and has a section on their webstore for shipping international orders, they will cost about UK RRP.

    Thanks for all the replies.

After some research I have found that most of the discount websites are only worth it if you buy 2+ items, as the delivery cost eats away the discount if you only buy 1 item. It seems its best to shop around as some models are cheaper on different sites.

Google seems pretty good, found some savage orcs for my girlfriend for only £12.87 and cold one riders for £16.30 with free delivery from amazon, using google shopping.

Well as I said, Maelstrom Games has free shipping on all orders of 10 pounds so even if you only have one item (as long as it isn't very small) then shipping will be free anyway. And Wayland's shipping price is very very small. However, yes, it usually works out best to make a decent sized order rather than one thing at a time with places like that.
