    evening all,

First off I'm completely new to seraphon and have yet to get started.

Since AOS launched I have played a fluffy nurgle list due to the fact I loved painting the models, however I've been trounced every game with the army being pretty uncompetitive.

I've been looking at seraphon as a new project as i really want to paint a dinosaur force however I would like to win slightly more games with this army hence list building first.

My question to you wonderful people is where do I start? I'd love to squeeze in a dread Saurian somewhere if possible and really like the Larger creatures? Are there any viable lists currently out there that would fit my wants? I'm open to compromise of course

    Thanks in advance :)

Well, i have some stupid list to offer, but it has:
    1) some monsters;
    2) 100% winrate atm (xD it is a lie, cause i played one game against Khorne and decimated him);

    I used:

    Leaders:
Slann Starmaster (great rememberer + restrices)
    Starseer (prism)

    Units:
    Skinks (boltspitters+clubs) x40
    Skinks (boltspitters+shields) x40
    Skinks (boltspitters+shields) x10
    Skink handlers x3
    Salamanders x4

    Behemoths:
    Troglodon
    Bastiladon
    Stegadon
    +Thunderquake starhost

Horde = stegadon: 3+ to hit and 3+ to wound, man, so good...add curse of fates, Skink alpha (so you can get rerolls of 1, meaning you can go for 2+ to hit) and troglodon nearby for savage so you can reroll to wound AND THEN IT CAN CHARGE for 3 or 2 d6 with additional 3 from horns
High AC = sallies (12" with -2 rend, oh man)
    Snipe - basti or/with stegadon, also you can send troglodon on hunting, but it will waste his buff;
    Control/tarpit - skinks (just trog nearby or some buff make them pretty hard hitting unit);

    Hi Mortheim,

Thanks for the reply, the list looks fun and I get to paint large creatures, will have to look into it, would be good to hear how you get on with more games under your belt :)

    Welcome!

There are indeed lots of cool lists including our big monsters, up to the mighty Dread Saurian.
In small games you probably won't be able to play that Dread Saurian well, because he is pretty expensive, but other monsters fit quite well.

Hmmm... this might not be something you want, but it could be fun...
...and you could also swap out one group of 40 Skinks for a Troglodon and have a second monster in there.

    Allegiance: Seraphon
    Skink Priest (80)
    - Priestly Trappings
    - Artefact: Coronal Shield
    Skink Starpriest (80)
    - General
    - Trait: Master of Star Rituals
    40 x Skinks (200)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    40 x Skinks (200)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    10 x Skinks (60)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    Dread Saurian (380)

    Total: 1000/1000

    Hi Aginor,

Thanks for your reply :) I won't really be playing small games so it won't be an issue, most of the guys I play all use 2k lists

For 2K I love this list. Not the most competitive one either, but it has monsters and it is just cool IMO:

You can also swap out the Troglodon for an EotG if you can do with just one of the Priests (maybe choose another Slann command trait then to get the spell without having a Starpriest), and of course you can (like I do) play with Terradons instead of Rippers.
The thing is: A lot of synergies. You can deepstrike anywhere, with the Shadowstrike or something else. You have dinosaurs and a Slann, even some mortal wounds, especially if you go for the EotG version.
Many possibilities and not too cheesy IMO. Perhaps not great for tournaments but versatile and fun to play. :)

    Allegiance: Seraphon
    Slann Starmaster (260)
    - General
    - Trait: Great Rememberer
    - Artefact: Incandescent Rectrices
    Skink Priest (80)
    - Priestly Trappings
    - Artefact: Coronal Shield
    Skink Starpriest (80)
    - Artefact: Prism of Amyntok
    40 x Skinks (200)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    10 x Skinks (60)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    10 x Skinks (60)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140)
    1 x Razordons (40)
    3 x Skink Handlers (40)
    Stegadon (240)
    Bastiladon (280)
    Troglodon (180)
    Shadowstrike Starhost (170)
    Thunderquake Starhost (170)

    Total: 2000/2000

Sorry for the late reply aginor we’ve been on holiday and haven’t had any access to WiFi, thanks for the 2k list I’ve decided to jump in and have a go painting my first unit and go from there :)
