Which of the lesser races do you enjoy fighting against the most, and why? Also, do other people like to play against Lizardmen?
My most favored opponent is Bretonians. There not too nutty in any category. Most of the players, in my area at least, like the whole honor thing so I rarely face dirty tricks. They have a variety and flavor that is always fun and finally I love the look. To be fair it may also be the nostalgia of fighting them. I started in 5th when the starting box had Lizards and Knights. I like playing against Orks and Goblins because it’s always an interesting game and you rarely face the same army twice. Of course with more than four times as many lord choices and twice as many core as us that isn’t as hard as it seems. I enjoy fights against Skaven, Empire and Dwarves right up to the point when the pull out the Lets kill Lizardmen with the dirtiest tricks possible lists. The rest are hit or miss mostly depending on the opponent.
I don't mind playing balanced Skaven lists. I enjoy playing VC even though I beat them fairly easily these days, also enjoy Beasts and Orcs because they have a fun mixture of stuff. I can't really say too much about opponents vs LM, but LM are seen as one of the more powerful armies around these days and most people don't like to get beaten. Especially when they feel it is out of their hands.
My best friend plays Daemons of Chaos and I think DoC and Lizardmen are 2 races that pretty much cancel each other out, which makes it usually very complicated for both generals. My friend also likes to cheese it up taking the extra OP/cheap special characters daemons hae (cough Skulltaker/Kairos/Blue Scribes/Mask of Slaanesh/Changeling in the same army cough). I have only lost once to him though and it was mainly due to him making about 35 5+ Daemonic save and me rolling horribly badly. I almost pulled a comeback with my Slann in TG unit but ran out of time. I've faced my older brother playing HE with a sub-optimal list but it was still fun for both of us. I'm looking forward to facing my older brother playing his DE army.
I like playing against High Elves. With or without Teclis. I run my solo slann with lore of light and love to watch my opponents complain when my lizzies suddenly have ASF and are hitting with WS 10 I 10. Its also fantastic to throw cupped hands onto to teclis and watch him get sucked into the warp. "But Teclis ignores the first miss cast of the turn." "That is correct but he doesn't ignore the effects of my miscast I just gave him."
I don't have enough variety in my games. I've only really played one on one against my friend who plays high elves , although i have played some multiplayer games against orcs, vampire counts and chaos. Definitely need to play against more armies!
I don’t think I have a favorite opponent army as much as favorite players. Most of the guys I play against have multiple armies and play them all fairly regularly and we all have fun. But if I had to pick and army I would say Dark Elves, every game I have ever played against DE has been a nail bitter to the end.
I have always loved playing against my mates dark elves. He only have about a 1000p army and no hydras. So his spearmen and corsairs get eaten alive by my Saurus, burned to a crisp by my sallies, and skinks do their part aswell. It always end in a blowout for me, and since I don't really care for elves it's always nice. Another opponent I love is the WoC, simply beacuse they put up a proper fight. They are, as many people will tell you, a devestating opponent to face and sometimes you need a challenge.
In terms of making really fluffy "story of the battle" Deamons, Warriors or Skaven are all great and the games are usually a lot of fun as well. But my favourite army to play against has to be my buddies High Elves, at this point we know each others methods of play so well and each others style of armies that every game is close and up to the last turn.
Night Goblin armies. 2 point-denial armies going head to head make for extremely fun matches imo. Plus with NG shaman getting magic mushrooms to go up against our Rumination it's a great magic battle to boot.
