Ever so slowly painting my Lizardmen...
mostly spear Saurus and blowpipe skinks left.

"Gathering dust in storage" counts as Collecting right?

Me and my wife are moving in to a new home at the end of the year so hopefully I'll be able to transition from the "still in boxes" part of collecting to the "starting to assemble... oh dear god why did I buy so many models" part.

Yeah, I noticed the previous option of "No more wargaming, just collecting/painting/storage" became "Collecting/Painting/Modelling" in the new poll, so I kinda went with that as the best option for storage and collecting.

I think I finally got all the 8th edition fluff; it was great finding deals on stuff that I would've never purchased at full retail:

For now, it's all being tossed into a closet with my lizards; hoping to find more motivation to paint soon.

:oldman: Hope you are good at speed painting.

It's nice to see 8th Edition so well represented. I'm pleasantly surprised. :)

Well....I voted for 8th Ed., but I haven't played a game in a year and a half (harder and harder to find the time and opponents as I get older). I have no interest in T9A, KoW, A0S, etc.

All my friends and I immediately made the switch to The Ninth Age. There were so many things that frustrated us about Warhammer - it could be so good! - and one of them was awesome models that had no real potential to compete. Another was new books making whole armies dramatically weaker or stronger. The idea of taking part in the development of the game was really appealling, too.

T9A hasn't fixed the problem of useless units yet, but I think it's got the best shot at it. I know someone people are turned off by the tournament-balance orientation it has, but since my friends and I pretty much do everything we can to grind the other guy's army into the dust, it's nice that having a fighting chance with every army is such a priority.

There are definitely things I miss about Warhammer proper (mostly about 6th and the early days of 8th). The biggest thing is probably some of the weird rules that were such expressions of army character. But overall we're all happy that we moved to 9th Age, and look at most of the large-scale changes and say, "These are just common-sense fixes to the stupid things we've talked about for years."

Right now I'm mostly collecting and work when I can. But, it will eventually work out when I hit military retirement in a few years and have lots of time to work on them.

There's no option for "Nothing".

But i'm not collecting. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them.
I have no interest in GW games.

Maybe... *MAYBE* if GW make my Dark Eldar usable again I may buy more of that. But AoS, Kings of War, ninth edition... all do not interest me at all.

Maybe collecting can be short for collecting dust!

Alas, I feel this poll skews the results. I think AoS support is much greater then the stats would suggest and 8th Edition is diminishing more and more with each passing day.

RIP to our fallen brothers who have succumbed to the taint of AoS: @Qupakoco @Scalenex ;)

I fear that the day will eventually come when I stand as the sole supporter of 8th Edition. I take solace in the fact that a few us still remain.

To be fair, I haven't fully given in. I've been away from the forum for almost a full year, mainly because of the whole AoS explosion being forced down my throat. Really disheartened my motivation. But it's hard to stay away from my Lizards <3 They've been calling to me...

I think my official stance is... The rules are ok (just ok), but the new fluff makes collecting very disinteresting. They could have just changed to the AoS rules without disregarding such a wonderful storyline. (My Lizards still live in Lustria)

And I miss 8th edition terribly.
