AoS Second Edition

But you get all the Spell pieces in one box, plus the rules and everything - it’s better value than buying each one separately if GW priced each one at around £10 (which they probably would have if they had had the chance)
true, it could be worse. It seems like a rather "poor" version of a start collecting box. I would've put em slightly cheaper, more on the level of one of the more expensive unit boxes. Or I'd have included some more stuff, add in some doubles for the various spells or something.

£50 for that amount of models and an expansion book is a bargain. Malign Portents book was £25 by itself, same as most other books they put out - so you're getting all the spell models for £25.

To be honest, I never understand anyone complaining about pricing in a luxury hobby. It is was it is, if you don't like it don't buy it.

And that's GW prices we know that unless you are buying direct from GW we will find that £50 set on line for £38 which is a complete steal.

Absolutely. I'm buying the whole lot from Alchemists Workshop... Going to be a pretty big order, starter box, GHB18, magic expansion, the two other nighthaunt boxes available that day.... At least.

Ah, I had forgotten about the book, thought it was just the models. Then it's not too bad.

As for complaining about a luxury hobby. It's an expensive hobby, it could stand to be cheaper. Fortunatly I got the disposible income to burn but it could definitly stand to be cheaper.

What mostly annoys me though is how much all over the place the prizes are. Id love if those would actually make some sense...

Als, i just noticed something fun. There's new verminlords on the official sites. Or well, "new", all the existing ones now actually have a model for sale. Hadn't seen those before.

When you compare the quality of the stuff GW are putting out these days vs the quality of other manufacturers it's just absolute night and day. They're putting out by a long shot the best quality models with the best manufacturering techniques in the business... They've also got the fanbase. Not to mention that they've got a huge operation to support - all the physical stores, Warhammer World, the support staff, design studio, painting, operations etc.

If you want to pay less, get your miniatures from a much smaller operation and deal with the lower quality...

Semi off topic, from what I've heard you have to give up a spell to unbind the predatory spells, to unbind it is its casting value. Not too shabby. Kinda sucks for our Slann since hes giving up spells for points sometimes.

I feel the pain your wallet is in right now. Call me a tightwad but I could never spend that much money at once - the sheer impact of losing so much money would overwhelm me!

Although at least you'll get some money back if you intend to sell the Stormcast...:p

Perhaps to @NIGHTBRINGER as plastic to melt down for him to cast new Tomb King models? Or perhaps @Warden to give him a new Hippogriff model for his Bretonnians (He'd need to find a mounted knight model to go with it mind)? ;)

Probably the same here ;)

I'll probably be flogging the SC on eBay, though I have so many kicking about now from various kits and freebies that I could just speed paint them and have another backup army for teaching people to play. Should probably sell them though to recoup some of that spending!

meh… frankly that's a tad too easy to unbind… all you need to counter an endless spell army is a token caster like that. Which seems a tad questionable. Would've prefered it if it was casting value +3 or something like that to Ensure it's not too simple.

Yeah I thought so too. It is kinda nice that you have to forgo casting bc most wizards are one spell so they may have to skip casting to keep unbinding while we can cast 2 or 3 more spells after an unbind.

There's plenty of "wizards" that could be taken as a token wizard and whose magic is solely used to counteract the endless spells. It's a decent "trade-off" if a proper wizard like a starpriest or battlemage does the dispelling. On the other hand if a mode like a vampire lord does it he's barely trading anything for it.

Anyways, finally coming to join us with our new shiny magics in the glorious age of sigmar?
Not until the game's complexity surpasses that of WFB (spoiler: it won't). But I hope you guys enjoy it!

Edit: in addition they would have to get rid of the Sigmarines (spoiler: it also won't happen)

I am getting the starter box or more specifically my Commission customer is
There is a greater chance that I get a Jar Jar tattoo than buy SCE! :D
My Commission customer is buying the starter box. He gets to keep the stormcast after I paint them and I get to keep the night haunt. I'm probably going to end up with the rule book as he doesn't play age of Sigmar and I'm giving him a little bit more commission credit to make it worth his while
