So what have I gotten done in the last 3 weeks well not as much as I'd like but trying to finish up some projects and take a palette cleans. Lets see what I have to show.

Remember this guy? Can you believe I never actually finished the base? 20180625_215912.jpg
Hit up the bix box, the aquarium plants, some loose stones from a rock, and a new box of skulls I picked up and voila a nice boggy battle field to stride over.

Back in 5th edition pewter timesI've been trying to finish the palanquin on my old slann then its onto the bearers. Still haven't been able to pick a colour for my old temple guard. I've also been trying to finish off the terradon riders of the same

Palette cleanse time you know what my shining lizards cohorts have always lacked, rust. Well that's what necromunda is for I guess.

Been working on some dirty industrial bulkhead doors from the boxed set. When I saw the three skull bulk heads I immediately thought of the RBY skull doors from doom. Trying to give them all a little flavour of their own. I have also assembled the Goliath gangers the options are a bit limited in how to make them so they were easy to assemble with an added power ax for my leader. I'm having trouble with the escher girls cause I love all the options and flavour so much, I might get a second box :D.

I don't know that I have the energy for large war games anymore but skirmish games are maybe more where my interests lie. Sadly not much lizard love in them.

Ok that's been the last 3 weeks more or less I really need to get on a schedule maybe every 2 weeks I take stock of what I accomplished. Try to stay motivated.

I haven't I'll admit it doesn't interest me that much for a few reasons. In part I don't like the new seraphon lore (though I do like the mortal realms and some of the world building there over the old warhammer world). Actually on the whole I like what they've done with AoS so you can focus on the elements of armies you want etc its just not a game that's for me?

When I say skirmish I think I'm just more interested in games where each model is independent (necromunda ( though the rules seem a little jank, the new kill team looks interesting). Something where you can hobby wise focus on like a dozen models and make them personal and rad and then crank out a game in an hour?

Nice to see some more necromunda stuff, I am liking how you are painting up all the bulkheads!

So.... its been a while. The lizard have been hibernating mostly I did finish my terradon skinks.
    20180819_210652.jpg
I think the next lizard project will be a pair of resin Salamanders with hunting team, but they need a bunch of clean up, fine cast kits are very messy :/.

In the mean time I've still been painting just not many..... lizards. Here's a taste.

oh, hai! Let's see what i've gotten up to in 3 months. Sadly few lizards hence my absence.

So I guess part of my absence from lizards is that I bought that necromunda box, then the rogue trader box... then blackstone fortress. I've realized this sort of small semi civilian not large army scale is the part of 40k that I'm actually more interested in exploring. But it's meant that my razordons and salamanders are still in a box and my new terradon kit is only half primed and assembled.

It's fine I needed a break from lizards anyway.

    20181119_135013.jpg
I'm done painting all the scenery and objectives from necromunda. I also painted a doge? Havn't decided how I'm basing the starstriders so doge base needs finishing.
    20181031_223328.jpg
I did go back and play around with some asphalty basing ideas for my inquisitor (not pictured) his retinue and my Chaplain favourite of my old marine minis. I've actually been picking up a few more iquisitor models cause they were a part of 40k that I loved the idea of. This one came to me after someone had taken clipers and lost a few bits. ended up making a right hand out of 5 different parts but it turned out well.

    20181114_193456.jpg

The two gangs for necromunda are also coming along, Escher is really more my style but I wanted to practice getting some diverse skin tones done so I started on the Goliaths, and then bought another 6 to play with so they're taking a bit of time. Still hoping to someday nail my girl friends skin tone but at least she appreciates my efforts.

I think I just feel overwhelmed when painting a large unit sometimes and there's so many things to work I don't know what to do next. This is especially true when tired.

So here's a little pallet cleanse from my other projects I cranked out last night and a bit when I got home from work today. I think I want to try a red mars kind of basing scheme to stand out from the skin.

Happy painting all. I shall return to my lizards at some point :) a few ideas on that brewing.

That's kind of been my problem of late.... necromunda has some really awesome minis i guess I'll pick that up, oh rogue trader has some really awesome minis I could buy another box, oh man blackstone fortress is really amazing well I could play it with some non wargaming friends, that sure is some good savings on that lizard battle force....

My pile in potentia of backlogged models has grown substantially from big box sets full of amazing minis. Even wrath and rapture has some amazing stuff I just can't justify it to myself :p.

And some more non Lizard stuff. It's cold out what with the polar vortex and the lizards are huddled deep in their temples.

I did some more Elucidian Starstriders. Had a lot of fun with the lightning on the mechanicus guy and his scanner.

Some more Nurgle vermin. Just some fast cursemites.
    20190109_204548.jpg
And a bit of conversion work, like this escher gal with a custom flamer from the resin chemthrower and some flamer bits.

    20190204_131840.jpg

Goliaths are also coming together.Trying to decide if I want to add any tattoos to them. I want to keep practicing freehand stuff but its also easy to mess up.

Ok so I know I've been a bit short on lizards lately.... but I whiped these Kroxigors up this week. Just a few touch ups and I think I'm happy enough with them. They're by far the most seraphon style colour scheme I've ever painted.

    20190210_081403.jpg 20190210_081439.jpg

Unpopular opinion (?) I've never liked how bulky a lot of the kroxigor models or proxies look. Always got the impression like they should be these very agile shock troops keeping up with their skink friends with enough muscle to deliver a killing blow. I like these guys lean and wirey and ready to spring forward or mid crushing blow. Now they're as big as the oldbloods from the carnosaur kit (a kit I have some scale problems with TBH) but still have this sense of surged speed that model lacks.

Oh also the wrists are kinda fucking, proving that none of us gets a model we're entirely happy with :p.

Nice job on the Kroxigors, they look awesome. The yellow scales look really good against the blue!

    Hahaha

    That's probably true.
