Hey ! I'm working on my 1500 points list for a little tournament at my local store. It's a 1500 points tournament but with 1000 points restriction so 2+ battleline 1-4 leaders and so ... For now I have 1000 points : Saurus Sunblood 120 (General) Skink Priest 100 Saurus Warriors x 10 100 Skinks x 10 80 Kroxigor x 3 180 Bastiladon 300 Chameleons x 5 120 I plan to had one Scar vet on Carnosaur, some warriors and knights from the starter box and a starpriest and drop the skinks that are for me not effective and too expensive for what they can do !! That will give me : Saurus Sunblood 120 (General) Scar Veteran on Carnosaur 260 Skink Starpriest 100 Skink Priest 100 Saurus Warriors x 20 200 Saurus Knights x 5 120 Kroxigor x 3 180 Bastiladon 300 Chameleons x 5 120 The idea is to have a strong pack of warriors support by the sunblood and the kinghts, buffed by the Starpriest. The krox and the bastiladon can work together (reroll 1's to wound for the krox in combat phase if they stay close enough) and the Scar vet where ever he is needed to deal with big stuff !! Everything grouped at first for the rerolls on the Priest Chameleons to do chameleons job on hereos and/or war machines ! What do you think ?
Looks like you have thought this through. The skink priest buffing the Krox and the Bastiladon with re rolling the saves will be infuriating for the opponent! The saurus Warriors 1 group of 20 or 2 groups of 10?
Yes reroll on Krox really makes them stronger against big units ! 1 unit of 20 for the warriors so they can all benefit from the ability of the Starpriest (he can buff only one unit).
I was thinking about adding a Scar Vet on Cold One but I need to drop the Priest or the Starpriest for that and I think they are both too important ! My other issues is : Do I upgrade the Scar Vet on Carnosaur to a Oldblood on Carnosaur and add 1 Razordon/Salamander and drop the Chameleons ?
I would keep the Scar Vet and chameleons personally. The command ability on the scar vet is great! You can even pick himself as the target for it, but it works well with knights, or the warriors.
Yes that's true but I think I will use the Sunblood as General though ! Better to have reroll to hit for several units on one target than uncertain extra attacks on 6's for one unit I think.
I think i'll use this base for my 2000 pts, adding some Knights, some Terradons and Chameleons for the Shadowstrike Starhost. Saurus Sunblood 120 (General) Scar Veteran on Carnosaur 260 Skink Starpriest 100 Skink Priest 100 Saurus Warriors x 20 200 Saurus Knights x 5 120 Saurus Knights x 5 120 Kroxigor x 3 180 Bastiladon 300 Chameleons x 5 120 Chameleons x 5 120 Terradons x3 140 Shadowstrike Starhost 120 Total 2000 Viable ?
I like this build. Somewhat unusual, builds perfectly off ofyour last list, which in an escalation league or tournament is necessary. This just looks tough as nails.
An other idea is the Firelance Starhost with 3 x 5 Knights, 3 Terradons and 1 Salamander/Razordon and i can drop thé Chaméléons for a Scar Vet on Cold One for 1980 points total ! Not the mot effective list but fun to play I guess !
You can use the scarvet in carno for the firelance. Take seraphon allegiance your knights are your battleline. Leave your warriors at home and it looks like this: List Summary Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (260) - General Saurus Sunblood (120) Skink Priest (100) - Priestly Trappings Skink Starpriest (100) Units Saurus Knights x 5 (120) - Lance Saurus Knights x 5 (120) - Lance Saurus Knights x 5 (120) - Lance Terradon Riders x 3 (140) - Starstrike Javelins Chameleon Skinks x 5 (120) Chameleon Skinks x 5 (120) Kroxigor x 3 (180) - Drakebite Maul Behemoths Bastiladon (300) War Machines Batallions Firelance Starhost (80) Shadowstrike Starhost (120) Total: 2000/2000 This way you get 2 battalions which allows you to get 3 order artefacts. And the bulk of your army is the same.
