General Old blood on carno - 320pts Heros Warden - 140 Sunblood - 120 Scar vet on cold one - 100 Skink priest - 100 Skink star priest - 100 Battleline 3 x 5 saurus guard - 300 3 x 10 saurus warriors - 300 Monsters Bastiladon - 300 Artillery Salamander - 60 Starhosts Sunclaw - 80 Eternal - 80 So what do you guys think? 2000/2000
I fear you are disperding your energies. Lots of battlelines, but dispersed within many units, which could be handy for objectives control, but it will make you lose bonuses from the number. I also see a Sunblood that won't be able to use its excellent command ability, a single salamander that will shoot at very short range and that can only count on a lucky shot. And you will lack fast movement units. What's your strategy? what kind of armies are you going to face?
As a rule of thumb, when facing armies with units that got good move and good saves (as Bretonnia knight), you should: have good shooting, possibly combined with good rend (Bastiladon and salamanders, so more than just one) melee units with good rend and good mobility (1 Carnosaur, maybe 2, or one carno and one stegadon), that you will shield with fast and cheaper units, to avoid unwanted charges (saurus knights, skinks) Maximize the losses from battleshock tests (combined action of banners and blood roar)
Alright thanks for the help I've been struggling to make good lists I'm still fairly new playing AOS and still learning how things work together.
No problem. Another option could be to post all the models you own (disclaimer: see the thread linked in my sig, which was made for this purpose ), so for us would be easier to give you advices. (for example, it would make no sense to suggest "field a Shadowstrike Starhost", if you don't have rippers!)
Yeah, but we're talking about knights with save 4+, so it's better to drown them under a lot of attacks. Hence rippers.
