Hey guys,

I'm headed there in slightly over a year's time and I wanna be prepared so just wondering if there are any wargamers here who are in Adelaide!
 
A year? Haha wow you are getting prepared ridiculously early!

I'm in Adelaide, don't know of any others on here. Though I must admit in a year's time I may or may not be here depending on where I get a job after my PhD finishes. :P

Congrats on that work! My wife wants me to go back and get a PhD. I may after she gets done with her school. Of course, then our kids will be in college.

yeah its freaking early but I need something, hell anything for that matter, for me to look forward to! hahahahahah

nice! which uni are you doing the PhD in! which field! I'll be headed to Flinders myself
 
I'm an 8 year veteran of Flinders Uni. ;) In physical sciences, I'm looking into nanomaterials and energetic materials.

Adelaide is a quiet city, but I have to admit its easy to live in because of that. Maybe not great if you are into big party scenes or large events, but if not then its good.

What are you going to be studying?

woah! nice! I'm doing psychology there haha. direct honours and starting in year 3 of the course due to exemptions. I was there for 2 months about 2 years back! loved it there sooooo muchhh. and nah I'm not into the big party scenes or anything.

the sunsets are just..wow.. and the scenery is just mind blowing! even in the uni! do you game at harlequins halls at the uni?

if you're still there maybe we could have a game or something! would be fantastic to learn from a master!
 
Yeah the Flinders campus really is very nice! There is some chance I'll still be there possibly doing more research, but with any luck I'll have an actual job haha. I haven't actually looked into clubs at the university except for the volleyball club, that and study takes up most of my time.

Psychology is such an interesting field, I looked at going into it for a while. More the research side than psychologist side though, and that seemed like it would be hard to break into.

the research side is fun and i enjoy it myself but boy when you start a new proj and look ahead its a hell of a long road till the end hahah
 
Thanks for the link, looks like Harlequin's Halls plays at Blackwood which is where I am currently living so I should check them out in the new year!
 
Np!! they have a place on campus itself as well if i'm not wrong. they apparently play more 40k but they do play fantasy as well. on another note, merry christmas !!
