The underlined bit sounds like an echo of the bubblehammer rumor.

One of the largest development advantages 40k has always had over Fantasy is the "room" a galaxy had compared to a planet.

I know from conversations I've had over the years that this constraint had been a real sticking point for them.

If the reboot gives them a legitimate way to have near-limitless room to develop and expand on ideas, then it's going to be a good thing.

I mean, just kill at Necrons and Tau. At one point neither one had any part in 40k. Then POOF new threat, new race, new models...all with plausible reasons for being added. Kinda hard to add whole new races and armies when the entire "map" is already largely known and populated.

I'm not sure why this would be a sad face situation. The fluff is already butchered as is. With realms/bubbles it might allow for some interesting scenarios. Maybe bubbles from the past featuring all the current armies? ;)

If you had told me a year ago that GW was going scrap its warhammer setting for the bubbleverse I would have called you crazy. Still a part of me can't believe that it is actually true. I'm not excited at all about the new fluff. Of course it could turn out to be great, I just have a bad feeling about it.

True and I'm not arguing that the new fluff will be good, just that it might allow for some interesting stuff and be a way to combine the new and the old.

Possibly. We won't know for certain until it is released. My feelings are more of a gut reaction in response to the rumours and the End Times. I still hold on to some hope that it could be fantastic.

Would I have done the End Times differently? Yes, definitely. I could very easily go on a very long and detailed post about what I would have done differently, why I'd have done it differently, and why I believe that from a narrative perspective what I would have done differently would have been better. However, rumours do not deserve any serious thought. That's not to say that this whole affair can't get you worried, that's both perfectly fine and understandable, while I'm positive on the matter I am still anxious, but worry really should come from our personal beliefs and opinions, not the opinions of rumour sites that are quite frankly sketchy at best and often riddled with contradictions.

Unfortunately the rumours come from very reliable sources this time around. In addition, the rumours are starting to be proven to be true... bubbleverse, round bases, etc. Personally I absolutely DESPISED everything about the End Times. So I'm really hoping that the trends introduced during the End Times do not continue into Age of Sigmar.

Perhaps, but in this instance I'm rather loathe to believe anything. GW has been as watertight as they can get without keeping the whole thing secret until the day of release in regards to Age of Siggy.

Which I think is really hurting them. Their silence is just making things much worse in my opinion.

I think staying watertight can be a benefit, but you need to spin it right. GW aren't really spinning it at all, which does hurt them, I agree.

If we are going to entertain rumours though, I would point towards the one that states that Warhammer will become multi-layered with a normal 9th, End Times, and Skirmish game types supported. That's a rather nice one.

I meant the original bubble hammer (fragments of the old world floating through the void, yet somehow weirdly linked so various races could fight one another). So many bubbles....

That's true. It's all about reading your target audience / customer base. If silence is creating intrigue and excitement then let it ride... but if silence is causing panic, anger and negative speculation, then it is probably time to step in. I wonder how many people have frozen their GW spending (or worse, transitioning to competitors) over this silence.

That is definitely a good one; I'd be happy if that came to pass.

We've got those rumours as well, no need to worry. ;)

I did buy some Stormfiends a while ago and a Saurus Scar-Vet BSB two days ago (treated to a better model for my BSB). I was going to get some Oldbloods on Cold Ones but I was wary about 9th.

I need to really set myself a paint challenge so I stop wasting time looking at the rumour pool. Paint so many models until release date.

Careful, the denizens of Lustria might make a sacrifice out of you for that kind of talk.

Well Lizardmen are still number one for my list. I do need a range of models for my portfolio so hopefully that excuse is good enough not to get sacrificed. Plus of course buying more Lizardmen models, I want to make a Lord Mazdamundi model.
