AoS Second Edition

Hey Lord A of L, have you looked at the Khardoron Overlords?
They look like an interesting second faction to poke at once I have my Seraphon up and running. They seem to be underpowered though, at least that is the sense I get from the little I have seen about them.

I have looked at Kharadron and I do like them a lot, although Fyreslayers can also be used largely in Fantasy as Slayers and the other units like the Magmadroth would still fit in with Fantasy lore. This dual functionality pulled me towards them and away from Kharadron. I actually think that was a wise move as Fyreslayers are still resilient due to their Ward Saves and powerful in melee with their Mortal Wound spamming. Shame to hear about them taking a hit, although they can take allied Runelords to counter magic as they can unblind like Wizards. I think it is a great shame that armies like Sylvaneth grow stronger just because they have magic yet many of the truly awesome armies are not given any bonuses, but I’m still quite happy with Fyreslayers’ position. However, I still don’t understand why Sylvaneth are so popular especially in Warhammer Fest Europe. The only things that I think are decent about them is the ex-Wood Elf models and those that are based on them. The rest I still don’t think much of.

Another nice one.
With that taint of evil that adds some spicy flavor... :D

I don’t really like DoK myself - I like the Fantasy connection and the Melusai whose snake bodies would make for a good basis for Kroxigor conversions, but I’ve never been keen on the blood frenzy of the Witch Elves, even before AoS. However, at least Morathi is a Warhammer Fantasy favourite that has been in the game for donkeys’ years and it makes sense to bring her back the way she is, unlike another AoS character I could mention. I also like how although the Witch Elves think they are spilling blood for Khaine as they were in Fantasy, in actual fact Khaine is dead and buried and it’s secretly Morathi herself who’s benefitting from it all, but otherwise I’m not that keen and never have been.

In any case, that’s just my opinion.

I love how nobody ever mentions the real reason why they like Daughters of Khaine ;)

I did!

And before you say it, while bikini-clad Elf women do of course have an instinctive appeal towards all normal males like myself and a good few other male members of this forum (who will probably know what I'm talking about), I prefer my girls in long dresses and with long fluffy hair and more elegant and less fanatical about bloodshed. Unfortunately GW haven't done an army of those yet, with one of the Bretonnian Damsel miniatures being about the closest they've got:

Ah well, I can dream! ;)

In any case, for the time being at least, I'm happy with using my Dwarfs of most stripes, Skaven and Lizardmen.

Because they have some awesome models.

Not as good as Tomb Kings, Lizardmen and Warriors of Chaos though!

There's a subtle difference between awesome models and models that warm my heart.
I'm sorry but WoC falls in the first one, for me. ;)
