Ok so now that my internet likes me again, an update to what I've been working on. First off the local cult to sotek has provided the army with 38 skink archers, their arrow tips dipped in salamander venom. These plastic skinks are not the most detailed things and mine have seen a coat of paint or two. But I think they came together rather well. I'm sure I'll get more questions about the basework but guess what!? Been playing around a bit with the textured paint and I'm reasonably happy with the effects it creates. Hey if nothing else it's a step up from my previous work I might try to get some better pics of the command but that's a taste of my latest work. I have some ripperdactyls that need a paint job they'll begin soon and I am probably going to pick another classic 5th ed unit to work on. Probably the blue surus unit or the last 36 plastic skinks havn't decided which. As you can see I've finally managed to assemble the army I wanted as a freshly spawned commander. Screens of skinks and kroxigors to cover the advance of the saururs blocks with some speedy hitters on the wings to sweep around. Further units of skinks to cover the flanks in their wake. It's in the low 4000k side of points under 5th ed rules which were a real mess to calculate xD. Let me know what you think
Well I don't know that my basing will ever be as good as others but it is something to work on . I'm trying some!
In other project news.... some pallet cleansers and prototypes.... The priests are gathering up swarms of lustrian denizens two by two. Some of the skinks have failed to return back from their long range Jungle patrols. We fear the worst Captured ripperdactyls have hatched and are maturing though their mottled hides have yet to come in. The skinks have called this one Sandy. The sacred plaques show a new spawning of skinks may be coming soon, they shall be marked in the sacred colours Tlachaka god of discount produce. Anyway that's some of the stuff in progress on my painting table right now. Basing is still in the back of my mind if I get more of that done I'll let you all know .
The ripperdactyl looks fantastic! I really like the paint job on that! Jungle swarm monsters look great! This all looks awesome! Can't wait for the next update!
Ok so a minor mishap involving most of a bottle of earthshade later.... Mottling on Sandy is coming in and her siblings are growing up as well .
That looks awesome!! I love it! Don´t worry about the amount of paint it took because it looks absolutely sick!!
Ladies leggings for 9,97... Need to tell my wife! And when she's there she can get me this 2for8 meat pack offer... Oh! Nice rippers there! I like the sandy colour. Looks good!
Well thankfully/sadly its actually only 3 coats of paint for the skin (Xv-88, Zamesi desert and earthshade). The paint was mostly lost to a late night elbow bump, shades spill out onto a work bench fast. O.O Thanks Think i still want to highlight the skin a bit and more mottled appearance to the wings maybe in some of the warmer browns, I haven't decided yet but I'll keep everyone in the loop
gonna look good gonna look good gonna look good…… If i can just make a suggestion here, though: maybe you should try to avoid painting too late in the evening. you might end up damaging your eyes :/
I'm sadly entering a career of florescent lights, and evening/night shifts I don't think painting into the am is going to be any worse then that .
Damn. 'flourescent lights' is a pretty alluring description, though… what career, if you dont mind me asking? A DJ? ^^
ha, not quite as sexy, some would say, but it's not a bad career ^^ congrats on making it through though!
