Yeah, I envision the fighty version being a mount for a skink chief instead of a saurus hero.

But to bring the thread back on topic, here's how I see the Steg-bomb.

A Steg-bomb can only be carried by two coatl. The steg in question does not have the usual howdah weapon selection. Instead, the howdah is fitted with a gliding apparatus, and the skink crew operate the controls by adjusting ropes and pulleys. This allows the steg to be more accurately guided to its target. If the steg lands on a unit, that unit suffers 3d6 impact hits at strength 5. The steg then continues its path and is placed in close combat with the unit landed upon. Also, at any time afterward, if the stegadon is not engaged in close combat, a unit of 2 coatls (or 4 terradons) may hoist the stegadon aloft once more by flying over it. The stegadon bomb may then be dropped again as normal.

I think you got a couple of things backwards mate :p

First of all, fluffwise, only skinks ride coatls to begin with, not saurus.
And that you think it will be the skink cheif that will deliver the fighter role disturbs me o_O

Please stop. :jawdrop: if GW makes something so ridicolous I will leave the game for good. :jawdrop:

I love this idea, however, a single goblin with a metal helmet and wings is S5 and ignores armor. A Steg should be S10. Not even a cannonball would be a devastating as several tons of angry meat and bones falling upon your head then proceeding to thunderstomp you into the pulp. :bored:

Doom Divers EAT YOUR HEART OUT :D !

Skink chiefs may not be optimal choices now, but you have to consider this will be a new book and they may drop in points or get better stats or special abilities that makes you want to take them. Also, I don't think I said saurus should ride coatl? As cool as flying scar-vets would be I don't think the fluff could justify it.

Unless it was a really, really, big coatl. ;)

How about an "exploded stegadon" template? Now THAT would be twisted.

You! All this time! All those terrible concepts!

You have been very, very busy haven't you PhatMoFo.

If you really work at GW you must know this guy:
    amexo.jpg

Actually, one of your ideas might have some merit, that one about a saurus sacred spawning of "Bob". Do you mind if I run with the idea? I can envisage one or two amusing situations arising, like if there was one who wouldn't get out of the spawning pool.

Maybe not, I can't really see it leading anywhere.

I want a piece of long range artillery - either a steg mounted cannon, or a skink run stone thrower. I'd take a nerf on the WM range and be able to only whip a stone 36". I want a long range solution for the LM.

I'm sorry, it's an awful mini. It's also tiny. There's no definition and what the expression on the face. Nice paint job, but an awful awful model. If you honestly believe GW can't make anything better (and in plastic) you clearly haven't bought any of their models for the last 20 years...

    Hello Lustria-Online,

This forum has been a place of joy and wonder for me for many years. An island of refuge and delight in a world of reptilian ignorance. Most of you will not know me, unless it as the guy who harps about showing not telling from his stuporous palanquin. This might be the first time I've posted outside of Fluff and Stories.

Today something miraculous happened in my life that has caused me to come here and enact a dark ritual to resurrect this daemonic thread that should have been left to rot forever in the deepest pit of the L-O archive.

In 2013, when I was first drawn to this site by another dark ritual, I discovered this thread, like most great things of those halcyon days, thanks to a @spawning of Bob comic. The insane genius contained herein immediately entranced my soul so that I have been unable to leave the great realm of L-O ever since. Seriously - this thread is one of the greatest things ever.

I have dreamed about falling stegadons, I believe, either consciously or not, every day of my life since that day. And so it was that today I went to the cinema with my little sister. We intended to see Logan, but she is slightly too young for its rating and they wouldn't let her in. Wondering how to kill the time, we noticed that there was another movie playing at the same time - a little-known indie feature by the name of "Power Rangers" - that I had not been planning to see at all, in my ignorant folly.

We sat through the bulk of the standard-fare running time, thinking the shenanigans unfolding onscreen of little consequence. And then it happened. [Spoilers to follow if anyone cares]

At the climactic CGI battle, our heroes don "zords" - giant dinosaur robot tanks - to fight the giant robot villain. And guess what happened. The giant robot that was a pterodactyl PICKED UP the giant robot that was a triceratops, in its claws, and CARRIED IT UP INTO THE AIR and then - yes! oh the glory! - it DROPPED IT on the massive villain.

I don't remember what happened in the rest of the movie - my whole world went white and I woke up 5 hours later in a forest in Finland - but I do know that for that one moment, that one perfect moment, I felt communion with the Old Ones. Their greatest prophecy has finally been fulfilled.

Rejoice worshippers of the Old Ones, their greatest prophecy has indeed been fulfilled.
