A Quarry.....hmm. This ^ is from Age of Empires. Wonders what specifics @tom ndege had in mind. ~~~ I have just learned there is an Igneous rock called Purple Porphory, but there is only one quarry site on Earth where it comes from. ~~~
Burlap wrapped around small wooden blocks or cylinders might be a decent way to construct wicker-work containers. Wooden coffee stirrers could help with crates. A bead store is a source for 28mm scale pottery. I have often wondered what sort of containers Maya, Aztec, Toltec (or Lizardmen) would use for trade goods. I can picture old Stegadons past their fighting prime being used to haul cargo but what the cargo would consist of is a bit of a stumper.
I wanted to leave this suggestion as open as possible -- terrain that is hard to navigate. Looking forward to see what you come up with! This one should be interesting.. Any rules about whether or not monsters & minis are allowed in our terrain @Crowsfoot ?
I would second that question. Today I drew a draft of my entry and it turns out that the best possible way to execute it is to make a vignette. Hopefully, that is allowed.
So I get to make an arena... interesting I guess warden you meant a fighting arena... I don´t think I´ll be able to make it tyranid themed, so I´ll have to be lizardmen themed... Now the only question is monster to monster arena, or saurus fighting pit??
Great assignment! I will start my research. Sounds good to me! When I put down the idea I was thinking something like a gladiator pit, but thinking along the lines of the Lizardmen I envision something looking more like a Mayan ballcourt? Maybe they conduct sacrifices when the game is done? I don't know how to fit an "arena" theme for tyranids, unless its maybe an underground fighting-pit for a genestealer cult.
Haha the imagery for that is really funny. I like the idea of tyranid pit bosses betting on grunts like an underground fight. Cigars and bowler hats for all?
Ordered some stuff for the pond. Also have some plan in mind already. Looking forward to that project very much!
