Not yet. But the Alliance stuff sounds interesting. 400 points of Allies in 2k points allowed. So I guess we can now take Stormcast as allies so we can win? Aleguzzler in Ironjawz armies is one of the examples they mentioned. Tomorrow some Death info. I am a bit excited and hopeful now.
Of course, the lack of Deathrattle allegiance, could mean that Deathrattle is likely to get a real battletome.
Hopefully that the focus of such a battletome will be placed on the Vampire counts as their models are still in production. It makes fiscal sense for GW to shift the focus away from TK.
Absolutely true. That's also probably the reason for points increase for TK, and decrease for Fyreslayers.
If Dan Heelan is to be believed that was not their motivation at all. The troubles with TK had them on the planned ban list for SCGT until the community team offered up a preview of the revised points as a way to keep them in the biggest AoS tournament.
I don't hate them - I think they look decent with their Corinthian-style helmets, Dragon Monstrous Cavalry and Gryph-Hound and Aetherwing companions. I especially like the new hunter ones recently released with the Lord Aquillor and Vanguard Palladors. I've been writing unofficial rules for them in 8th Edition as another 'monstrous army'. True, they do look a lot like Space Marines but they're less grimdark - you could look at Space Marines as evil nationalists, the way they mercilessly slaughter alien populations even if they are peaceful cultures, whereas the Eternals are true 'good guys', valiant, chivalrous super knights who are ready to steamroller some Chaos scum. Certainly I was far more annoyed by GW making Chaos win in the End Times than bringing in the Stormcasts. I also agree that GW do give them more glory than the other races and it's a bit boring, but they recently dedicated not one but two consecutive issues of monthly White Dwarf to the Kharadron Overlords when they were released (April and May 2017 - April introduced them for the first time and May saw the minis being released and the lore being further examined. Furthermore, the White Dwarf birthday battle report featured Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords, my two fave factions in AoS, where they squashed Nurgle and battered the Ironjawz, although I'm pleased to say that Nurgle was the one that was truly hammered!). No other individual army has had such pomp and ceremony recently. I agree with everything you say friend - I only collect armies because I like the Lore or I like the models or both, not for competitive purposes, and any games I do play are friendly games with my mates and relatives, and I hate to see people with game breaking armies, like one of the Games Workshop I played against with my Lizardmen - he used the shop's Warriors of Chaos army every time, purely to win. And then when I played LOTR against him with my Dwarves he used a bloody Mumak, four cataphracts and four Khandish horsemen. He should have a look at the 'bugger off' part too. No Kharadron Overlord Allegiances! What's going on here? Although at least the old Dispossessed are getting some love again (which is a good job because I have heaps of them) as well as Fyreslayers and Seraphon. I'm surprised there are no Stormcast Eternal allegiance abilities. Aren't you?
I am actually surprised they didn't put in awesome SCE stuff just because. But yeah, they didn'T include new allegiance abilities for armies that just recently got a new Battletome with all that spell lore and stuff: - Sylvaneth - Khorne - SCE - Bonesplitterz - Tzeentch - Kharadron Overlords The other factions not present are the really interesting ones: - Deathrattle - Nurgle + others That could mean they will probably get new Battletomes soon. EDIT: Or receive more radical changes like being rolled into other factions. Perhaps they kill Deathrattle completely and just make it generic Death, who knows? They said they will tell us more about Death today so I am very curious!
Nurgle doesn't interest me - they've got too much of an update already in 40K. Where will they spill the beans about death today?
I'm no supporter of the Vampires. I just want all the AoS players to focus on them and discard their TK so that I can pick them up cheaply.
But in the process advocating more people to join their evil forces. But then, it means more vermin for me to annihilate on the battlefield...
Only in the AoS realms.... realms which I care nothing about! Hahaha... I hope now you see the brilliance of my master plan.
Of note in the death report is mention of discounts to horde units when taken at full size. Saurus and skink hordes might be a viable strategy with the update.
I saw one page about warscroll updates. Maybe at the end of the book they will have added some updated warscrolls? I'm hoping for Skink chiefs who can buff units with +1 to hit as a ability!
