As someone coming from a country where basically all predators bigger than a housecat are extinct I sometimes wonder how different people coming from areas like that probably act and think in their daily lives. When you have to expect such things to happen. (Bonus points for Australia or so of course, where everything might kill you).

I have cleaned public restrooms. First, I have cleaned them in a place where men outnumber women 4:1. Not surprisingly, the men's room is much grosser. The few times I have cleaned them in a place where men and women are roughly the same population size, women's toiliets will generally be grosser than men's toliets. Women don't generally like to sit on public toliet seat if they can help it, so they sometimes miss, which means the toliet seat becomes grosser which means fewer women choose to sit on the toliet sest which means the seat becomes grosser. I assumed women just squatted over the seat, but this drawing makes sense too. We need further confirmation.
