I got all worked up for the movie Kick-Ass, only to find out that my local theaters won't be playing the movie because it has the word "Ass" in it. God, I love living in South Dakota.... --DF2K
haha! That's what you get for living in the Bible Belt! At least I live in a city large enough that if they didn't play that movie their would be plenty of disgruntled citizens so they more or less have to!
You'd think so. I've even heard some people who the theater just put "Kick A." in the marquee. --DF2K
Wow that is crazy censorship. Most likely one of the things that pushes people to download instead of buy... I thought it was bad enough here that we can't have R-rated games and many have to have censored versions released in Aus.
I'm so glad I live in The Netherlands. Nothing we don't allow. And I find it really scary that the government / authority / organization can decide on what you can and can't see. Ofcourse, they all do this to a certain amount. But if a theater wouldn't play a movie because of it's title; that'll be headline news (and a LOT of negative publicity). Heck, if they wouldn't play a movie because of its contents; it's headline news! I guess we Dutch just like to see it all The Hunted
Well thats the other flaw in the system actually.. A lot of games that are R in the US just get MA 15+ here when really they should be R. The things that get banned or censored seem to be explicite gore, sexuality and drug use. Plain old violence and swearing is fine. The world is a strange place.
Again I ask, no God of War? I mean, you get to sacrifice humans, rip heads off your enemies, and have sex with naked maidens. --DF2K
Sounds like a great game. It is available, but I am not a console gamer so I have no idea if it was censored or how much it was. PS3 games are rediculous here; up to $150 just for a damn game!
