I sympathize with your cause, but my vote is something ala "I'll lurk around, but probably not".

I have good memories of 8th, but the few times I've played again with it, I found myself not liking it.
Basically, i still like to read about it, I love 8th BatReps, I enjoy 8th army lists, but i don't think I'll actively join the ranks of active players.
 
There are still some 8th questions on here, so maybe a few more will join. I don't miss it at all, so I won't go, but I would always want to help someone who is interested get there. So the information is always good to have handy.

Well, at least you know of its existence should you change your mind.

It would be nice to get some of the 8th ed L-O contingent over to the forum.

Tempting... I'll probably lurk for a bit before making the jump. (That and I'm keeping to square bases for my Lizardmen as I can't be bothered to rebase them, or have a mix of round and square together- would rather have a uniform look as it were, and I can play both 8th and aos) I do have a friend getting back into fantasy (specifically 8th edition or at least the rank and file style of gaming, as he dislikes aos), will let him know about it if he is interested in signing up to forums :)

I voted lurk. I've still got my 8th edition books but nobody around here plays and I never really got familiar with the rules. I still enjoy the Old World and reading battle reports of 8th ed games, and ranked armies do look pretty nice. I'm pretty much all-in on 40k at the moment so unlikely to do anything other than be a creepy spy.
