As my Personal Blog got swamped with an off topic discussion I thought it might be good to start a separate thread about it here.. (If there is a better place for this then by all means move it to there!)

Just quoting stuff from my blog first then we can continue this awesome game.

That's a good idea to keep the old stuff around and use them for Mordheim! Hoping to see more of your warbands, or even what lists you plan to run or have run in the past!

Haven't really run any Lizardmen list, but if I play my Seraphon I'll make a short battle report for sure.
Mordheim warband is:
Skink Priest
2 Skink Crest
1 Saurus hero thing (forgot name)
2 (max4) Saurus warriors
unlimited skinks (till max warband size) I think I have 6 now in my warband. And one ascended to a hero

What do you men by Skink crest?, also what would you recommend to play mordheim with lizardmen? I don´t know if I should go many and not a lot of equipment or a few and lots of equipment, or maybe something in between?

Alright there is some genuine interest in this! Very good! So let me elaborate on this a bit. I was new also last year on the Eurobash (organized by the Warhammer-Empire forum) so take this with a grain of salt :p

First negative on a Lizardmen warband is the amount of Hero's these are your money makers between games so you need literally all of them and hope some henchmen will ascent soon. So starting with 500 gold
First you will need a Skink Priest he is your leader (-60 gold)
-- Second down fall, IF your priest dies you NEED to re-buy him and play 1 game without a leader.. (wait WUT!), so what ever you do DON'T let him need to roll on the injury table.
So next you can have one Saurus Totem Warrior he is your pinch hitter (-60 gold)
Then 2 Skink Great Crests as your last 2 hero's you can start with (2x 30=60 gold)

So there you have it.. 3 characters that are actually pretty squishy and one hitter.. no biggy right we will just fill out with hitting henchmen.
Well here we go again..
Special rule: Saurus Rarity: Can never include more Saurus Braves then there are Skink Braves. and there is a cap of 4 on the Saurus Braves as well
So you might want 4 Saurus Braves (40 gold per one) but then you NEED atleast 4 Skink Braves as well (20 gold per one)

Hero's 500-180= 320 left.
4 Saurus = 160 + 4 Skink = 80 leaving 80 gold to some other thing with (gear which will cost you also, so no option to really go full out yet)
Or should you go for the really hard hitting Kroxigor of which you can have 1 of. Well take out your purse then.. that's a -200 gold leaving 120 to buy a Saurus and a Skink leaving about 60 gold for gear.. that is a very small warband there. and losing that Kroxigor will hurt you and he is LARGE so he can be picked out by shooters and as a Henchmen has a bigger chance to DIE on the Injury table.

So taking all this into account I came up with a warband tactic of harassment. Using your big amount of shooting (skinks are low cost and average shooters but you can field lots) and using your power hitters as a sort of body guard. So my gear would also need to be looked at that way, so lots of bows.

Start list (not yet knowing how important it was to start with full hero load):
Skink Priest - Bone Helmet, Shield, Sword, Short Bow (90)
Saurus Totem Warrior - Axe, Shield (70)
Skink Great Crest - Axe, Shield (40)
3 Skink Braves (group1) with Short Bows (75)
3 Saurus Braves (group 2) Axe and Shield (150)
3 Skink Braves (group3) Short Bows (75)
=500

List I ended up with after 5 games and a free for all (4 player) having som luck in getting light armour (you also pay top price for that but luckily you have scaly skin and with cheap shields gives you a decent save):
Skink Priest - Dagger, Short Bow, Bone Helmet, Shield
Saurus Totem Warrior - Spear, Light armour, shield
Skink Great Crest - Axe, Short Bow, Shield
Skink Great Crest - Spear, Short Bow, Shield
Skink Brave (ascended) - Dagger, Short Bow, Shield
Saurus Brave (ascended) - Axe, Light Armour, Shield

Henchmen group1: 1 Skink Braves - Dagger, Short Bow
Henchmen group2: 1 Saurus Braves - Axe, Shield
Henchmen group3: 3 Skink Braves - no equipment (Daggers)

After my experience I made this new list though it has been a while since I looked at this and just skimming this I'm not sure if this is good. As Mark of the Old Ones can only be bought at making your warband..(change a failed dice roll in a successful one once per battle) I took this one for sacrificing some bodies.

Skink Priest - Mark of the Old One, Short Bow, Shield (120)
Saurus Totem Warrior - Mark of the Old One, Spear, Shield (125)
Skink Great Crest - Short Bow (35)
Skink Great Crest - Short Bow (35)

2 Saurus Braves - Spear Shield (110)
3 Skink Braves - Short Bow (75)
=500

Most equipment that is auxiliary like melee weapons on your Crests can be bought pretty soon anyway so keep it cheap and just for initial protection. Also count on losses for your skink braves with WS2, T2 and W1 in combat they go down fast!

I would like to have a Kroxigor but on his own he would be a gold sink.. so just need to keep hoping on a jackpot somehow to buy him later when you don't have to replace much of your skink braves.

Where did you get your rules? I think we have different sets.
In mine your hero allowances are: the skink priest, which costs 35 gold, a revered guardian (saurus leader) costs 90 and must obligatory be the leader and up to two temple guard that cost 60 each.
Yep, definitely we play with different rules. But thanks any ways!

I got them here:
https://docs.google.com/folderview?id=0B18J5DU-6cP_aEg2dHIxbGpaMlk&usp=drive_web
In Warbands - Unofficial
In Experimental there is also a version with 1 Priest & 4 Totem Warriors & Slann + Braves

Also here a nice guide http://boringmordheimforum.forumier...n-warband-starting-roster?highlight=lizardmen
with some mistakes in them so read the comments also.

Now my question is where did you get yours? :)

I love this folder, I have almost everything in it saved as a backup on my computer (also it loads faster that way).

Great stuff! Now if I ever play a game of Mordheim again I will post my list as well... my list was very similar to yours, maxed characters, as many saurus as I was allowed to take, and tons of little skinks running around shooting at stuff.

Do you have any specific Mordheim terrain you use during battles/campaigns? There are amazing sets out there (one good example is the Long Island Wargaming group during their Mordheim City Limits Campaign). My long term warhammer dream is to create a Mordheim city, but jungle-Lizardified for Lustria Cities of Gold.

I only played Mordheim last year during that event and at home I have a board.. well 3 pieces of MDF board of 2' by 4' making it 6' by 4' with some green carpet stuff nailed on it, the 5th edition starter set tower and shack (the house got destroyed somewhere) and now 1 citadel woods (without the leaves as of yet). I hope to get AoS scenery more, but getting a Mordheim city is an utopia for me... unless I win that Army thing of GW

Edit gonna watch that youtube series thanks!

So, as I was saying, :joyful::
I have no idea form where did I get my rules. A friend of mine sent them to me so I could play, although he said he found others but where too good for his liking :joyful::joyful:.

@Jorgik Well at the moment that sounds like a fan made list.

@Warden I watched the first few video's and I really like them, they feel like how we played at the Bash last year (only those were mostly 1vs1)

Curious if you have seen any good examples of Lustria Cities of Gold campaigns being played? I know that was a thing for Mordheim a long time ago looking through many of the old Town Cryers, I just haven't found many examples online of the scenarios/campaign being played. Probably just need to look harder...

Also there are many FANTASTIC examples of mordheim city terrain built out there, I would love to see a Lizardmen-city built for a proper Mordheim campaign.

There was one huge lizard men city built. But I don´t know what system if was for, the scenery was too densely packed to be fantasy, and it was too big to be a mordheim map. It was awesome though

did you mean this table?

Yea, it looks like it may have been a Commissioned table.

Thank you for the links! I have seen the amazing France games-day setup, I can only dream about something like that. Also I have seen the temple-skull setup, amazing! The other links are new, thanks for the pictures! So many projects to do, never enough time.

I am curious if there are any good Lizardmen Warband examples out there that anyone knows of. Maybe stuff that is converted with Mordheim campaigns in mind?

I have three that I have thrown together and took pictures of, but they are just using units that I have in my army:

The Scales of Sotek Warband
(Heroes: Skink Priest, Totem Saurus warrior, 2 Skink Great Crests; Henchmen: 2 Saurus, 4 Skinks with javelins)

Sotek Warband 4.1.JPG

The Green Crocodiles Warband
(Heroes: Skink Priest, Totem Saurus Warrior, 2 Skink Great Crests; Henchmen: 3 Saurus, 3 Skinks with javelins).
Led by the famed scar-veteran Yax Nuunayin of the Lost City of Mutal. Recent picture, depicted here with some of my WIP jungle fortress terrain!

Crocodile Warband 3.JPG

The Golden Armada Warband
(Heroes: Skink Priest with javelin, Totem Saurus warrior, 2 Skink Great Crests; Henchmen: 2 Saurus with spears, 5 Skinks with blowpipes/counts-as-bows-because-I-don't-have-any-bows).
Name inspired by a warband in the Long Island Wargaming Group that I don't have pictures for, just the link to their AWESOME Mordheim campaign.

Gold Warband 2.JPG

Builds are pretty much the same I guess
1. Priest
2. Totem warrior
3. Great Crest
4. Great Crest

Henchmen: 2 or 3 Saurus fill up with skinks (usually bows)

There is another make up for the henchmen, but a riskier one
Kroxigor and 1 saurus and 1-2 skinks (I think it was)
