Blog Ndege's painting and conversion lab - Nuff said!

Not a fan of the sculpt but your paint job brings out the shapes well I think.

I like the details on the Cold One. Crisp.

Wroked on the purple parts today... with great assistance of my daughter, who shook the paints for me.

I think it's too much pink on the spikes on his back... And the saddle (part on the rider) isn't highlighted yet...

What do you say... good idea to highlight sotek green with moot green?

It's actually a mix of three parts sotek and two parts moot... guess some final highlights with a mix with more moot and less sotek might be a nice finish before glazing the whole thing with waywatcher...

So here we have the current wip knight and the (So called) finished one...

Guess I will redo the rider on the finished one (right side ;)) cause the new skin recepie look much cooler...
...that's the bad thing when you don't paint units as one bunch... always redoing stuff... but at least it keeps me painting...

So I worked on these guys today... standard bearer's skin is finished... And started highlighting purple stuff or continued working on said highlights... scales on the third green backed cold one are also done...
Can you spot the difference between the shields and the skin color on the picture? The standard bearer is more blueish and the shields have different colors for the final highlights... gw's emperors children and vallejo's warlord purple...

And the whole unit in all it's unfinished brutality...

Had a cold one left over from my carnosaur conversion... tried a scheme for the next unit on it... riders might be the light brown or grey skinned ones... and I'm unsure about the scales... I could give them green scales like the grey cold ones have, so they would look similar to the scar vet conversion... other options can be brown, grey or sand colors... I'd like to make them look from kind of a dry land savanna habitat...

Went a bit further with the test model... added the gold on the head dress and gave it brown scales and grey spikes... also left the two biggest scales on the hindleggs grey... quite pleased with the results...

Question is if it'd be cool to make the two prominent scales on the forelimps grey, too... thoughts?!

Guess I'll keep it as it is and maybe vary the amount of grey scales individually... so I can keep them quite similar according to the choice of colors and still have my beloved variety in the unit...;)

Side note: magnetizing bigger stuff with magnets from cigarettepaper boxes works well...

The magnets are quite big... 4-5mm diameter I estimate... so nothing for a weapon or other tiny stuff but I think I could use them for my next unit of knights...:D

That look on the dinosaur's face is amazing! :D

Six days... nearly a week... can't believe it! o_O
So I couldn't help myself and had to make one brown scaled cold one for the unit... he fits in quite nice... Will definitely look better when I'll add the other four to make them ten... due to technical problems... pictures tomorrow...:(

Not in the mood for knights today... did some detail on my green warriors instead... (and it came to my mind that I should redo parts of them... scales for the most...) I did mostly yellow stuff today... feathers on the standard, gems and shields... the standard bearer's shield is supposed to look like the other one when finished... guess I'll have to remove the heraldry to properly paint it... ah well...

Now it's a race between the grey *purple* guards, the green *purple* knights and the green *yellow* warriors to become my first finished unit of saurus... first color is the skin color and the one between the * is the unit color... first marking the part of the army (responsible Slann) second used to identify the unit from others of the same kind...
