Blog Ndege's painting and conversion lab - Nuff said!

I have hear stories of People using Windex as a thinning medium in an airbrush... (I think it's because it dries quickly)

ps. I assume you guys are talking about airbrush specific mediums.

I think at some point this year I'll buy a better compressor. I have a Sotar 20/20 on it's way...

Badger are great Airbrushes, with the compressor look for a quiet one or it will drive you nuts.

I have an Iwata Smartjet pro, expensive but fantastic

My office has a rack server running 24/7 in it - noise really isn't an issue to me...

We were once cutting down some trees for a server company... I had to walk through their server hall (room isn't big enough) to get to the CEO office to get the papers signed... those servers are louder than a chain saw if coming in masses... good thing I had my ear protection with me...

Yeah, they're pretty loud when they get going. Mine idle at a comparatively quiet rate... When you first turn it on though it actually sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Haha yeah the first time I was in a big server room I thought WTF there is something wrong. :D

I have a Paashe compressor that I got for Christmas. That thing is super quiet! I have it sitting on the floor under my desk and the first time I turned it on, I had to lean down and check if it was even running! I was expecting it to sound like a lawnmower or generator but it just purrs like a cat! It has suction cups on the bottom that act as shock absorbers. I highly recommend it!

That looks pretty nice. The one I have at the moment doesn't have a tank so it's pretty loud and running all the time...

So... here some progress on the lady bug basti... shell is completely highlighted except the two sides of it's tail club...
Then I wanted to shade the recesses between the scales... tried nuln oil on the back part and agrax earth shade on the front... now I have to decide which looks better... next will be shading the soft skin parts and then highlighting the skin and the black dots on the shell...

I think I like the agrax version a little better... though black might be the easier way to go...
also added some highlights on the crystal ... guess I'll call it finished for now...

Comments welcome!

To the guy who edged all the tiny scales on his kroxigor models (@Itepixcauh iirc)... I'll try to beat you by the use of my bastiladon's skin! ;)

Had to stop at this point cause neither my eyes nor my hands would let me continue... the other side is still completly dark...
Also I think the shell looks really good with the darker recesses... first time I used a wash and a 0/2 size brush together!:artist: thanks to @Crowsfoot for the tip given in @Aginor's thread! ;):p

Only the tail is still missing ...
