New Paint Scheme.. Thoughts or opinions? UPDATED.

[Guardian of Hexoatl]

This is the color scheme that I am thinking about using on my army and I was wondering what you all thought of it. It Is undercoated with Chaos Black, the skin is a light dry brush of Regal Blue, and the scales are scab red. I wanted a look that slightly resembeled a blue and red poison dart frog. I just wanted to get all of your guys' thoughts on this paint scheme. Do you like it? Or are there different colors better suited to the overall scheme? Plus I am gonna use some GW static grass on the bases as well as some water effects on the skinks maybe.

Colour choices look good, I would probably make one of them a bit lighter (brighter highlight over what you have) to make some of it stand out more though and contract dark/light. Poison dart frogs also tend to be pretty bright.

Finally, get some wash/ink into them! All the gold and bone areas need brown wash at least, and the rest could use some too.

agree with stewart on all points.

if i could change one thing about your choice of color it would be the shield. not because its not a cool color, but if you made it for example a vibrant green you would get more nice contrast, making it look even better. the current color looks a bit dull and boring.

I third what has been said. Although, I dont think the shield color is dull, I just think it looks too much like the color of the saurus itself and blends too much.

Looks good. I agree with Strewart (of course), throw some washes on there to help bring out some detail and give them a finished look.

Wow. The green really ads a nice contrast. I like it. I am still in agreeance with Strewart and those others above on adding some wash or ink. How amazing those models will stand out with the color combo you have by increasing the depth and giving it more of a 3D lived-in appearance. Good job!

I actually liked the light purple shield But go with whatever you like best. I agree with the wash comment, it'll add some depth if you throw a Thraka green wash over the green shield or Leviathan Purple over the purple shield.

Hello,

A white undercoat would be more "lightly" I think : your color sheme is very good (cold colors fot cold ones ^^) but your miniatures look too dark. Or add some white to your colors it would be better.

Be carefull with the green shield : your green is good but you would take a little time about the color of your bases. Another green would not give a good view (as far as I'm concerned) but a brown would create a good contrast.

It would look really good if you would wash the shield with dark green. The saurus itself looks great.
