I've just started running a 3 strong unit of Razordon and so far, I've been pretty impressed.
Even without HoG support, the shooting has been pretty impressive and S4 makes a real mess of elves of most varieties.

And they can certainly put out some hurt in combat as well, with 9xS3 and 6xS5 attacks plus stomps (as applicable).

And one thing to consider, is that a lot of opponents don't really know too much about them, having only seen Salamanders on the table before. In my last game, after shooting down 7 out of 20 Swordmasters in a turn, my opponent looked at me and said 'I thought these things were supposed to be rubbish?!'.
They went on to flank charge a Silver Helm unit and help break it, to return and shoot up the rest of the Swordmasters.

I'm pretty impressed with them so far...
