my minds all over the place at the minute, I was a bit bored of doing skinks so I might mix it up with a salamander. using some spare parts from the carnosaur kit I'm gonna make a little leash kinda thing

Alright, I supersized the base and have done some terrain, do you guys want to see a tutorial on how I build my bases, by that I mean I post a pic and explain what I've done at each step?

my chameleon skinks and astrolith bearer arrived today!

Overall not much progress today other than cleaning up the chameleon skinks and doing some shields for the skink handlers looking after my sally.

My first skink handler fully done, I kitted him out with a shield to help him stand out and gave him a pink crest as my warriors have yellow, chiefs have red, priests have green ( each type has a different color) My chameleon skinks are also cleaned up and ready to be primed and base coated soon.

Alright, all 3 skink handlers are finished, im going to start work on the salamanders base now
I cleaned the above one up quite a bit so it looks alot less messy

Are all of your Skinks magnetized?

Not all of them but some, it makes them easier to travel and means I can swamp them out, I magnetized this one because I want to be able to switch it from its own base and the salamanders.

Obviously a work in progress shot but things are starting to come on, the base layer is on and the water effects are getting a second coat the lighting isn't great but it doesn't matter since this was just a quick update I have used a tone of this mud as it fills in all the bad gaps in the cork and makes it look alot more natural and smooths the transition of raised ground -> low ground -> swamp water Keep in mind there will be a tree in that hole on the top

I also managed to draw a quick plan of the salamander base, so take this as a ruff estimate of what it will look like
well I'm at it I may as well chuck in a quick recap on the skinks I've done, they look a bit more bulked out since I last put my full 5 on. they are starting to look like a cohesive force.

the salamander isn't finished but is magnetised. in that little hole there will be a spider. Im still lacking the mushrooms, creatures, mini ferns, water complete and a tree- I reckon it will take me the rest of the week.

sorry for the bad lighting but its dark and this is the best i can do. overall some progress mainly the ruff beginning of the tree Just a really quick example of what the leaves will somewhat resemble, obviously including multiple layers and smaller leaves aswell.

A real jungle feeling when you look at it

I also like the various insects your using on the bases. Seems right because the jungle swarms.
