Why do you have to come up with such amazing art!!!! I can´t even draw a proper slann glyph!! AND I DEMAND YOU TO MAKE A DIORAMA OF THOSE TWO BROTHERS!! This is just pure awesomeness!!
Stunning concept. Next up I want to see Death Glyph, a cartoon about a skink who has the power to kill the enemies of the great plan, while being hunted by a secretive and ultra-intelligent slann who believes it is not the correct great plan. Also the Last Azyrbender, the only remaining skink who can use the lore of heavens, and his journey to master the other seven lores and fulfil the prophecy.
Got some Fullmetal Lizardman WIP painting pictures! Spoiler: Fullmetal Lizardmen WIP All pictures in varying shades of color being added, first one is just the line sketch. Painting is just basic store bought (Walmart) Apple Barrel paints. On an old 11x14 inch canvas I found in my closet. Nice and Cheap. Finished product:
Real awesome! Now I need to do some art of my own, you make me want to do too many things and I don´t have the time to of it!
More glyphs! From the previous page many of you may have realized I have a thing for Mayan art. I am currently doing some research and have been practicing more Mayan glyphs. Here is a full page of my sketchbook finally filled up: It depicts the first 19ish kings of the ruined city of Tikal. Some glyphs are "incomplete" because the only real-world examples of them are incomplete. Some of these names only exist on a single fragment of pottery! Found some old Lizardmen artwork I did a while back saved to my computer... Maps: This looks like somewhere on the coastline of Lustria, it might have been a precursor to some of my later maps. Not sure when I made it. Spoiler Also here is one of "North Lustria," back when I didn't know that the Dark Elves lived in Canada. Has some made up temple cities north of Hexoatl by some lakes in central not-Mexico, "Yucatan," and not-Florida. Here is a campaign that my brother and I never played, about the city of Acuatzan in not-Florida. I think the storyline was about the hunt for a fountain/pool of eternal life in the main temple city in the center. "Glade of Florida," campaign style based off the one in the "Lustria" campaign book. Glyphs and Architecture: Some glyphs. Spoiler Some doodle pages with a bunch of Lizardmen architecture and stuff on them. On the first one is my attempts at designing the door to my jungle fortress in my army blog. And some siege weapon designs. Cool drawings! Some old ideas for ruined statues, and an "engine of the gods" idea that I had long before the new stegadon kit came out, inspired by the Arcanodon thing in the Lustria book. Based on that last picture, most of these drawings were done back in 2007!!! Which is crazy because of the next picture, it looks like I was planning to do something with a ankylosaur! Also a dragon... but I remember my original idea was to make a unit of ankylosaur dinos with engines-of-the-gods on their backs, glad GW decided to make them an actual kit! Back then I made some pretty good predictions! The great plan works in mysterious ways...
More art! Still working on my fluff-piece, but I got distracted by trying to make a visual of some of the Lizardmen characters. My attempt to draw the skink priest Zul-K'an (based on Tetteko) ended in failure... I couldn't get the proportions right. Spoiler BUT on the plus side I was able to make some headway onto another skink priest that will be showing up a little later. Decided to name this guy Muluc (aka Lord Water) after the famous king of Caracol who beat up on the city of Tikal. Muluc, known as Lord Water, devoted high priest of Chac-Tzunki Spoiler: Lord Water sketch Lots of turquoise stones in his costume, and blue-and-black face paint to make him stand out. Character design was based of this awesome image of a Mayan healer/medicine man/priest/shaman. Spoiler: Mayan Priest
These guys are awesome! Even the wrong proportions on Zul-K'an make him look like the chibi or maybe happy meal toy design! I read Muluk as Murloc at first, so lord of water was quite fitting in my mind!
Been watching quite a bit of the Olympics recently and this never dawned on me! That is a good idea, now just to figure out how this guy got disfigured...
Ok, this stuff is totally NOT MY WORK, but it is so good I absolutely have to post it here: LIZARDMEN CONCEPT ART (link from the bowels of the internet) A quick glimpse into how awesome this art is: I wish my coatl rider looked this good!!! Spoiler: Amazing Lizardmen Art Skink Priest Saurus Scar-Veteran Engine of the Gods and crocodile-creature Super magic-engine on creature wearing gold armor! Priest of Sotek. Look at the snakes! Machine of the Old Ones on Spikeydeathosaur! Lizardmen Cavalry! Epic an Bloodthirsty Skink leader! I hope this provides you with as much inspiration and ideas as it has to me! If anyone has any idea who made this artwork (most of it is signed DG @ GW 2014) please let me know!
Also a link for our heretical/ratty denizens of the forum: skaven concept art! And bretonnians! Geez I found a gold mine! Goblins John Blanche Adrian Smith
.... so many epic sketches.... @woogity & @Rikard I not saying that you have to make some of these sketches come to life... but yea....
I've seen some of those before from the Lustria campaign book! Many of the others I haven't, they look damn awesome though!
That coatl rider though, OMG why did we not get this model. Ps. Warden, Do you know the artist name that did the Lizardmen sketches ? PPs. I found a couple more Lizardmen sketches buy this artist DG.... http://funnyjunk.com/channel/fuckin-warhammer/Lizardmen+concept+art/dechLqr/ (lots of Cold one sketches and one fire serpent sketch)
I think I figured it out. The only person listed in the "illustrators" column in the old Lizardmen army book (I think it was 6th ed, the one published in 2003-2004) that fits the initial's "DG" was David Gallagher. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Dave_Gallagher Looks like he is one of warhammer's most classic artists!
