With so many amazing options to choose from, what game or games are you using your Salamanders/Seraphon/Lizardmen/ Saurian Ancients/Reptiles and Dinosaurs for? Or do you just prefer to collect them and see how far you can take your painting. There is another poll here: Poll: What is the most probable future for your Lizardmen? but that was from a while back and I think that the answers may be a bit different. Just kind of want to know where the forum is at now. Please don't make this an argument against other games, but feel free to tell us what is great about the game you're playing. Most of us like to hear the great things about games we haven't tried to give us a reason to try them out.

First and foremost for me is painting, second and my first choice of game is KOW and I am thinking about buying some more core just for AOS.

I want to really get into KOW and I'm currently building my furry goblins up ti build a decent army to go along with my undead and salamanders.

Right now focusing on modelling and painting. I have vague plans for a map based 8th edition campaign against my brother's Chaos Legions and possibly two friends, who will likely field Dwarfs and Skaven respectively.

that sounds like quite a bit of fun! We did something similar, just put a middle earth map on some styrofoam and stuck pins in, and once with a risk board, but that was for mageknight way back when.

I play KoW, which puts the key consideration of making sure that it works as a game where it belongs, as one of the top priorities in writing the rules set. This is likely to involve some painting and collecting, since the about 60 infantry models that were mostly sufficient in 8th I'm finding often aren't as much as I'd like for KoW, so reinforcements seem in order, and Mantic's Salamander models look like they'd be fun to paint.

yeah, the salamanders look pretty awesome and the Hrath Flamespitter or Veteran look incredible, They seem like they would be a great project.

I don't know of any clubs or groups around me that play any of the options. KOW is a distant maybe.

A lot of my LM figures could double as troopers in a Warlord Reptus army. ( Warlord: an excellent but, at best, dormant game once published by ReaperMiniatures. )

I think I was looking this up once to try and find the big hero alligator guy for a Kroxigor proxy. Looked like a pretty good game. Or maybe it was for an oldblood. I spend a lot of time looking at minis!

I have so many models to paint that the "Collecting/Painting/Modelling" option should have been my only choice...
... but all I'm planning to build/paint and collect is aimed at AoS.

I wouldn't mind trying the other games, but in all honesty I don't have a gaming group used to play different things apart from AoS (or GW related games), and personally I don't feel the need.

Surely, I've never been as far away as I am now from the idea of selling my Seraphon/Lizardmen models! :)

Actually I am in a similar place. I was ready to sell my army and then AOS came out, got me back into it and got me to join this forum! Though I am fairly interested in KOW, just need to find the players in my area.

I think there are lots of people around here with a similar story! :) And that's a good thing, of course!
But I never had enough courage to try selling my poor lizzies: some of them were presents from my relatives or other valuable objects to me, so yes, they may have been kept closed somewhere in my house for a long time, but never in real danger of being sold. ;)

Oh, by the way, I once tried to use some of my models to play Song of Blades and Heroes, but I found that game so much boring that I couldn't even finish the match! :joyful:

Actually it's AoS, but who knows? In the future there could be some 9th

I have a guy at my school who got about 100 lizardmen models (around 1500pts worth) from his cousin and he´s thinking about giving them to me. They´re the old models (I don´t quite like them) so if I get them I might be selling them ... :):);)
