I don't think I've ever seen grey Lizzardmen before. Try it out!

Just grab some skinks and try out different things to see how it goes, pick one you like best. In the end it needs to be something you like to keep painting. Try looking at pictures of lizards and frogs for inspiration.

these are a WIP but thats what dark grey skin looks like on lizardmen, the in brown in the skin as well to make it more realistic, the scales on this model are going to be green,
but these are on the bench while i paint 48 saurus warriors :(

Go for the fire/lava/ash theme. Not that it hasnt been done before but it is very striking!

    My lizard theme is Lava/fire

    Foundation Red for base Coat
Then Devlin Mud for the body and Bad Ass Black for the scale areas
Then i do Blazing Orange on the Scales followed by a Firey Orange highlight
Then i do Blood red highlight slash drybrush
Then i do everything but the scales in a Red Wash to Blend the Reds together.
Weapons and Shields are done Green, Anything that looks shiny is done in shiny gold with some washes on it.
Try this il post some pic soon, 1am and dont want to go to my car atm.

The trick is to use Charadon Granite and wash with Badab Black (I find, anyways). It looks black enough, but there's enough difference between the light and dark that it looks like shaded black.
