WHFB and AoS, which model had the shortest life?

I didn't even know they existed!
Qute old-fashioned but good looking in my opinion.

Imho those look rather weird... and not necesarly in a good way. Admittadly it would help distinguish rippers and terradons more which would be nice.

What about 7th edition Lizardmen Terradon riders? They were immediately replaced in 8th edition with our current iteration.

I thought those were around in 6th Edition as well, seeing as one of them appears in the softback 7th Edition Rulebook for Battle of Skull Pass, thus implying they were released before 7th Edition.

This could be why they were short lived. They have the look of too much rider, too much Dino, not enough wing. Were they sold in random blisters first?

(Before winding up in kitboxes of three.)

They do, if you zoom in on the right one you can spot them legs :)
6th Edition terradons are hella good looking !

Those are quite hidden. Mwha, still like the current ones better. These look a bit like they are cold ones without the lower body and with Wings. I like the skink riders though.

Does anyone of y'all know how old the Skycutter was? Was it 7th or 8th edition?

8th Edition, but it was only thrown out quite recently. I think the Forsaken are still the current leaders in the contest as they only lasted for just over a couple of years. Even the 7th Ed Terradons lasted longer (the 8th Edition ones appeared just over 3 years after the 8th Edition Rules arrived, so just from that it’s clear the 7th Edition Terradons lasted longer than 2 years).

Yep I think we have a "winner".

But that's actually something good I think.
It means GW is reluctant to drop relatively new miniatures unless they sell really poorly. (As expected. An injection mold is damn expensive).

Poison Wind Mortar perhaps? It didn't get rules in the latest Skaven battletome!

Is that the one where birds were pulling something ?

True, but it originated in the Island of Blood Box from 2010, so it lasted a healthy 9 years.

Yes indeed, that’s the Skycutter. It appeared with some other 8th High Elf releases a few months after the Forsaken, but lasted right up to this year, giving it a lifespan of 6 years, while the Forsaken were scrapped in 2015 and only had a lifespan of two years.
