    Hello all,

I posted here a while back when I first started painting my Lizard army. Unfortunately, the release of the new Beastmen book drew my attention and I have spent the last year working on them (http://s288.photobucket.com/albums/ll178/antonus/Beasts/).

Now they are done and while I enjoy the struggle (wink, wink) of winning with Beastmen it was time to start painting all the Lizard models I purchased. It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to paint them and I truly think Saurus are very difficult models to paint. I finally settled on something like this:

    slann2-1.jpg

The water isn't actually that color. I was using the technique of painting below it and adding clear water on top but the glue was still wet and looks blue in the pic. I actually think it looks really cool and plan to try and make it look that was permanently.

Let me know what you think and I plan on adding my Salamander and some skinks soon!

Very nice work! I love the basing you used for these models and the colours are unique and very fresh! I love the detail on the shields. Would love to see a few pictures of just the slann and also some of just the saurus

    Very well executed!! :)

    VERY KOOL,
I like the unique paint scheme,
is that mostly an ogrim flesh wash on the Lizards?

This is so good in so many ways I can't even begin with!

It is very rare to see different LM painting schemes (apart from the GW blue one) not to mention to this standard.

The black Slann is ACE! The OSL in his eyes is masterfully done.

    Congratulations in the colour choices.

Really looking forward to catch some more of your work! Please send more photos our way :D

EDIT: I'll add my voice to the people asking for more details on the Saurus scheme

Wow, thanks for all the kind words! I really do appreciate it.

The Saurus were really hard to figure out. Had to sacrifice a few before I got it right. Best way to describe it is Shadow Gray + Blazing Orange and highlighting up with more orange, bleached bone and white.

Also, i should have mentioned something that almost slipped me: your slight slann conversion is ACE!

I am most definitely gonna steal your idea.

    OMG
I love the saurus' colours and highlights, it looks amazing!
the basing materials you used are nice and realistic
although, i personally dont find the colour of the slann appealing myself, i think that maybe it would be better off a more similar colour to the rest of your saurus and skinks. etc

    well done :D

Very awesome colour scheme for the Slann! I might even try to go with something similar for mine. Great work.

Fantastic color scheme on the sauri -- I really dig it. It's so hard to find anything that works aside from the GW blue. Well done.

Wonderful job! I love the Slann. I've got this crazy idea of doing a slann for each school of magic. That woud be my Shadow Slann!

    Kudos!
