Is it just me, or anyone thinking the same: compared to the other hosts in the end times books, the lizardmen host is a pile of junk? Im outraged.

No surprise really, Lizardmen got completely shafted in the End Times :(

Me too, but never mind the host, the fact that there were two high elf incarnates got me upset, that and i dont know whether Ariella or whoever is a woodelf or highelf, i collect woodelves as a second race. I would have liked to see each of the eight incarnates hail from each faction, highelf, darkelf, woodelf, empire, bretonnia, dwarfs, lizardmen, and orcs, maybe work nagash as undead because i never really understood how there are eight winds of magic, but somehow the lore of the undead also emerges and anyone can use it. If someone can clarify this for me plz do

That would have been nice. I would have been excited to see a Lizardmen model release as part of the End Times. But from the looks of it, GW are pretty much done with the Lizardmen.

The fluff explanation is that all subsequent Lores are a result of the many different ways of combining/handling the eight winds. For example, High Magic is the result of intricately weaving all eight together (a feat only the magically adept can do i.e. the Elves and the Slann) whilst Dark Magic is more crude, brutal and akin to slamming them all together. The Lore of Undeath (and by extension the Lore of Vampires) uses Dark Magic, but using a method developed by Nagash rather than the method typical to the Dark and Wood Elves.
Essentially, Undeath is a compound of the eight winds, where as the eight winds themselves are prime magical forces.

    Speaking of...

Teclis as Light, Malekith as Shadow, Ariel as Life, Karl Franz as Heavens, Gilles de Beton as Metal, Tehenhuan as Beasts, Skrag the Slaughtermaster as Fire, and Nagash as Death?

[excluded Dwarves due to their non-magical nature and replaced Orcs with Ogres due the latter's affinity with fire]

Most factions had no new models, whilst Chaos got two sets of releases and even then it was only dedicated to 1/2 of the of the army in terms of background. Therefore I think you mean GW are pretty much done with WFB ;p

There's been a couple of threads debating hypothetical 9th ed. rules for the Lizardmen. Time will tell whether we will have to use them!

We got a nice End Times prize purely by accident (I don't believe GW actually wanted to throw us a bone). The End Times magical rules pair very nicely with Wandering Deliberations or Focus of Mystery Slann.

I'm currently working on a strategy involving the Red Host (now that I have a copy of the rules). Though I agree it's not as good as the others I can still see merit. The plan right now is to add Jungle Swarm (I'm thinking 3 bases) with Tehenhauin in-between the two Bastilidons. This would be my anvil. Cohort+plus chief would be a Horde with posion, and act as anvil/hammer Chamos and Rippers kill artillery. Sally would soften up targets for cohort or hunt other chaff.

Anyway here's the full list I came up with: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/2500-red-host.15996/

Yea it the WoC release wasn't that impressive because they only focused on two gods (ignoring my favorite 2). But at least most armies got something, whether it be a model, rules for a model (i.e. KFA), some sort of army alliance (elves, chaos, skaven, undead, etc.); while we got a silly formation and that is it. But overall I think you are right, GW does seem pretty much finished with WFB.

That really is the silver lining, accidental silver lining, but I guess we have to take what we can get.

Thanks for that Slanputin, and yea that list works, if only. I just hope to god they don't merge armies/races or round base everything, which i think is a ridiculous rumor but dear god you never know.

Despite trying to remain as an adamant pillar of refusal to give in to negative rumors, I regret to inform that circle bases are almost certainly coming in some form or another. Every model? Unlikely. New stuff? Probably.

Also we know for a fact many armies will merge, what that means for many of the races is honestly not my concern, I care only for us. That being said, we're probably the most wrapped up in mystery compared to all of the other races. Here's to hoping.
