Blog Pinkies Paint log: Terrain for the terrain competition added

Ooooh lawd almighteh... Scibor miniature have sent my order today ?! I'm yet to hear from Elementgames who now have the dispatch date at May the 26th - 13 days later than the original date and 17 days later than the date I put in the order. Needless to say I've asked them to cancel my order.

Sooo.... a ton of shields are en route. I actually think the shields from hasslefree miniatures are somewhat small - if they are too small I'll see if they fit with my skinks. I've ordered 40 of them so it should cover the skinks I'm repainting.

In other news I managed to highlight 7 saurus warriors yesterday. So now I just need to paint weapon, teeth, claws, eyes and put on some extra stuff with greenstuff to make them more spartan like.

Oh and final thing - scibor miniature appear to both be based in the US and in Europe, although owned by someone from Polen. So in other words there's quite a decent chance that I'll have my shields from Polen either friday or saturday. Polen isn't that far off from Denmark. If my prediction holds true I'll have pictures up of 15-20 saurus warriors with shields sunday :pompus:

Oh and in total I have 120 shield on the way and another 8 or so that I'm thinkin can be used on champions and maybe for standard bearers.

well not such an interesting picture, but I managed to paint up some more saurus warriors so now I'm at 17 models. Just waiting for them shields now <.<

Excellent industriousness on your part... your forces are really coming along. Now the waiting game... shields, shields, shields!!!

The Polish post office system works slow compared to the Danish system. It took them 3 days to deliver it from one part of Polen to another and from there to dispatch it to Denmark, however it should be on it's way now. In theory they should just drive directly to Denmark now which mean that it'll be in DK tomorrow at midday and at my place Saturday. Fortunately it's not a package so I'm not forced to be home awaiting for the door bell yo ring :p

Anyway the shields from the UK should arrive here tomorrow with a little lucK. Considering both orders dispatched same day it's interesting that the air mail from the UK will likely be here sooner than the order one from Polen, which is only 11 hours drive from here XD

Anyway I'm just rambling on. The important part is that I'll soon have all the shields =]

Money received from Element Games. Good service, just unfortunate that they are incapable of getting those shields. Oh well..

Busy doing thesis, but I got my shields!

Metal shields were there to just measure how they would've looked on saurus warriors. I'm going to have metal shields on skinks, plastic spartan shields on saurus warriors and lion shields for templeguards. DSC_0286.JPG DSC_0288.JPG DSC_0287.JPG

EXCELLENT!! They are here. Both shields look really good, I particularly like the Saurus's Spartan shields. "Saurus! This is where we fight... this is where they die".

I've started painting on some of the shields, however I still need some things to do. Got 4 arms that needs to be painted and some other stuff, but I'll likely have the front done later :)

Champ is starting to look like a beast though and I'm happy with the standard as well.

I've been productive :D

Arms have been painted and I've painted the "hardest" shields today. Need to paint another 8 shields tomorrow which should be much of a problem.

Thanks :D

Now.. When I'm done with these I'll have to pull off the shields of my skinks. Going to be super messy. Arms will be broken, haha.

Awesome aged bronze effect! I've attempted something similar on my zombie hordes but I couldn't pull that off. What was your process for aging the bornze?

Also, you should reverse an engineer a fluff explanation for what the upside down V symbolizes in Saurian.

While figuring out what paints where to be needed required me buying 5 new metal paints the actual paint job is rather easy.

I use the runelord bronce, I believe it's called, as my bronze color. On top of that is a layer of this thin brown technical color. I believe it's actually suggested to be used as a rust color along with the orange dry brush color.
Anyway lastly the oxide green technical color is put on.

The two technical colors are put on, but on the small items I use my fingers to mess around with it. On the shields I gave a full layer of brown then cleared some of it off with paper and used the green where I figured it would look natural. I don't like to cover entire surfaces with the green color. I also used paper and a pensel where needed for the green color. When you mess around with it you'll likely understand.

Lastly I used the runelord bronze again to highlight certain areas or if I figured that I had went overboard certain areas with the green color. I did this on everything.

Oh and uhm.. I suppose some ancient human faction tried to invade Lustria a long time ago and failed, but impressed with the humans fighting style and strength they decided to take their equipment :p
That's they short version :D

Only a single skink needed to have his arm glued on again, otherwise s painful update on my skinks.
