Sources of models for conversions

I'm considering buying one and using it as a Scar vet

It will make an ideal Scar-vet or Oldblood.

Those look awesome! How do they rank up though? That tail looks like it might get in the way.

I have these two AOW models and they are awesome... But I think that they are too small to be Kroxigors...
They can replace very well Scar Vet or Oldblood in saurus warrior units...

You can see that the other Salamander is a bit bigger but also quite a bit taller.

Also want to mention that the material (resin) that they used was pretty good. Not a lot of flash and no real holes or anything.

It does get in the way slightly. I just tried it out with some saurus warriors.

I only own the one with the great weapon option and it is a bit smaller than the current edition kroxigors (though it dwarfs the previous edition skinny kroxigors).
I'm trying get him to fit nicely along with current edition kroxigors by...

1. building a custom weapon which is a bit larger and weighty than the original (complete)
2. basing him on something that gives him a little extra height (work in progress... in the sense that I haven't yet started it! )

It's the baby crocodile\ alligator from schleich.

The top one is actually taller, the bottom one is a bit smaller than a Krox, probably not the best choice for a Proxigor.

What I'd be tempted to do if you're looking at a salamander conversion is to use a bits site, ebay, or raid a friend's left overs from a varghiest box. You can use the flesh hounds of Khorne and the wings from a vargheist to make a very impressive sail for a salamander, these wings in particular.
