I see I am not the only one who doesn't care for round/oval bases. Stick to the basics! Square bases all around!

Quit being modest, the model looks great! (Although, being a bit of a perfectionist myself, I do understand. :dead:)

    You're definitely not alone.

Or better yet square bases "not-a-round" :p

Thanks a lot guys, its really motivating.

    About bases....

I originally wanted it to come with a merged base, like Woogitys kroxes, but then realized it would take away customizablity from whoever wants a set.

Its not up to me to decide what base its to go on, especially not as I think it will be used for other stuff than my homecooked rules.
Then again: I think its bad service if there isn't a base.
its not like its expensive to get of ebay, i'd rather just save customers the trouble (yes, I am considering making a Minitature webshop, have Beastmen concept coming up next)

Question: Would it be a dealbreaker if not bases where included at all?

Pretty much this, if people don't want the base that is included then it is upto them to buy the appropriate base for their needs.

the rounded bases just look better from a showcase point of view to me at least if you field it as a singular model then in my opinion its just gonna look better than a square base

edit: not that theres anything wrong with squares of course

Not to be the pointy finger, but i'd rather have the discussion of what bases are best somewhere else ;)

As I am a supporter of 9th Age, I will try to provide 50x100 bases for these guys.
I, however also prefer oval bases for showcasing :p

So, here are pictures of the 4 poses I have fitted out.
I had another more dynamic one made (pouncing forward) but do to an extremely anoying (and very well hidden) flaw in the sculpt, I consider it lost.

These guys needs a little retouch (see shoulder of pose 3 and 4), but then I consider them ready for production.
One of my friends is going to hook me up with one of his friends, who appearantly have exactly what I need to get these out!
And its even in my own city! :D

Nice. I quite like the middle two. What did you use as a reference for your poses?

    Thanks SP!
Due to the original theme of Huanchi, I still imagine them as scaly cats.
I tried to capture how Jaguars and Tigers move,
Pose 2 lashes out with its Paw like an angered cat would, Pose 3 is getting ready to pounce :)

    Awesome, Phatmofo
    I'm glad you got refocused.
    are you still tweaking?

    the first is stalking
body pressed low to sneak up close
    strikes without warning

    pose 2 is my fave
I would raise the claw a bit
    - just before the strike

    three about to pounce
should have body back a bit,
    hind legs coiled like springs

    make pose 4 leader
head raised to look for target -
    the pack's next victim

    May Caxuatn,
God of Hunters bless you with
    plenty of orders

Look really good so far and I agree with Bob about the poses but can I add a bit,

    1. Fine as it is
    2. Claw higher and slightly twist the head towards the raised claw, not much just a tad.
    3. As Bob has said and the tail needs to come up more.
    4. As Bob has said it wants to be sniffing the air for it's prey.

When will we see a production model?

    I'll look into it :)

Well, I am waiting for a response from a guy in my city who can help me out.
When Ive spoken with him and come to terms, I will get a test-print to see if everything is as I want it to be :)
If it is and the rest of the poses is done: THEN! :D
