Hmmm...I've never considered a gloss coat. I'm not really sure I'm sold on that. :shifty:

Looks really good so far, maybe do a final dot highlight of scar white on the yellow then glaze.

Well, I finished my first Kroxigor! I hope you like him!

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate all the kind words! :D

Really particular and handsome color scheme...
I really like the marble mallet....;)
I can't wait to see the three kroxigors together. Do you put them in a skink cohort or leave them alone?
Doctor

I'm thinking Skink Cohort just for my style of play, but truth be told, they have some trouble fitting in the middle of a unit of Skinks. The one I painted in particular. His mallet sticks out pretty far and bumps into the Skinks in front of him. Easily adjusted, but not seamless. I'm working on them, but I'm also working on this guy...

I think I'll call him Cadbury...

Whoot-whoot! I finished my Oldblood on Carnosaur! I actually found some time between feeding and holding babies to get some work done on him this weekend! I'm also getting much closer to finishing the Kroxigor set! Hopefully I'll be able to get some pics up soon of them too!

I just finished going through your blog (noticed when checking your colourful Kroxies that I skipped pages 3-15 or something) and really like your stuff. You have lots of curious details added here and there, I find spotting them great fun! And how come you get more done with four new arrivals from the Spawning Pool than me who has no kids?? The Carno looks great, too. The basing is fantastic and I like the green details in the weapon! Only thing I feel like I need to point out is the teeth of the Carno. In my opinion, they are too close to the skin colour, some bone colour added to the mix would make them pop out more. Anyway, great job so far, I hope you will find some more time to paint!

Thanks, guys!

@CAP: I really appreciate you going through and taking a look at my stuff! I really try to do a good job and it really makes my day when someone takes time to notice! :D

As for turning stuff out, I think that it might have to do with knowing that I'll only have a limited amount of time to sit down and actually paint something, so I try to make the most of my time. (I also have a very patient wife! ;))

I think you're right on the Carno's teeth. I needed to apply more bone color to them. Things like that don't really show up until you post them to something like this and it gets blown up several times it's actual size!

I think you just need to paint a gum line to separate the teeth from the jaw.
