Well, this thread is about everything that provokes an opinion about my fluff, it was bobs idea, blame him if it starts a flame war between people who like my fluff and those who don't

I thought of something else! Now I am mentally fatigued. :(

Your story + your temple city fluff (I know it is a big kahuna, but that is still a meaningless word to me) makes me think of the concept of a "convergence" which I think I got from Stephen Erikson's "Malazan Book of the Fallen" series. I also got very poor and very confused over something like a five year period.

In that series, an artifact / event / vulnerable weakened god / whatever would magnetically draw plot relevant entities and a whole lot of expendable baddies to one place. If Erikson had not named it "convergence" I would have named it "convenience" (ie. plot convenience). He cleverly had a character early on say, "Eeek! A denrathi is coming along as well! There must be a convergence!" he established it as a feature of his universe. He never explained it, but it is quite low on a very long list of things he never explained. Like denrathi. I think there were two or three major battles with a denrathi and I still have no idea.

The word just means "coming together".

Esurc, you may not have noticed it but there is a monumental convergence focused on your little bit of land in the middle of the Great Ocean. Maybe they all just want to hold hands.

I appreciate the strategic importance of the location and the drivers of revenge and greed, but something must have occurred to trigger the dominoes to fall at this time. It might be something very simple or subtle and it doesn't need to seem significant to any of your characters.

I hope you can flashback or dialogue back to whatever it was so I can better understand where events have come from.

Yes, its the "B" word again. Botatoes Background.

:meh:

Convergence, convenience, why not coincidence? Does everything have to happen for a reason?
If there are several unusual somethings, then yes.

The reason could be as simple as: "Orcs here in Ibiza? Damn!" followed by "Skaven too? Oh no!" Followed by, "Aw Mahrlect! There are Poms! I must be cursed!"

Or a mix?

"Damn it, it looks like the Skaven are after that mighty mystical ore that resides on this island too" the Sea Skink sighed dramatically.

Suddenly Prince Ramoth's pleasure barge landed on the beach, and the island was awash with partying and not-so-sober Hierophants.

The next piece is done, and this was meant to be a serious thread, some of you are contributing, but some of you aren't
if you can't say something valid* don't say anything
*I care not if it's nice

P.S
There are Poms!

What have Prisoners of Mother England got to do with this bob?

Following that link was creepy.

I've loaned the Stephen Erikson books to a friend - I will ask him to read them for me and find out what it was that I was attempting to talk about. I don't hold a lot of hope - he said he was up to book 5 and has as little idea what is going on as I did.

As an overall comment about the whole series, I'm loving it!

Epic scope, diverse cast, and it moves along at a nice quick pace that suits the scale and ambition of the plot.

Also, you've got a lovely way of picking up on one or two key characteristics of your characters for each scene, which helps keep it focussed and again suits the pace of your storytelling.

Good work!

Okay, I'm stumped, and I want public opinion on where the installment after 'Rage and Revenge' should be set, because I've got a few people who haven't been involved for a while, and a pair of story arcs that are currently in progress.
Which characters do you guys want to see
P.S @spawning of Bob I'm not adding Redshirtus back in

However I am looking forward to the brothers reuniting.
Bolisudtai- Elder god of Undeath, and all who are touched by the magic of undeath, Caster, and cast upon

And

Iasad- Elder god of the hunt, and all who participate in it, Hunter and Hunted

Sorry, felt like playing with the spoiler button.

So the story advance in Cathay? That's where one of them is (The other one is unknown to the reader).
So far the votes are: Cathay (Ardaris, Scetto, Tzaqor, Bolisudtai, Ruagahnn, Gurzgrat, I think I got all of them)
