Your dry-brushing looks so perfect and smooth. Mine never turns out nearly so well. I often end up with a dusty/chalky effect@NIGHTBRINGER
The scales are made using Airbrush to blend the colours and transaction to the blue skin.
And then is just a light drybrush of lighter colours and wash.
The scales look good because the model is very well sculpted.
So just let the drybrush/wash do the job by you.

On the plus side, I did just get an airbrush for my B-day... now it is time to learn how to use it!
