So there are 9 models/units from 8th edition that are no longer in production or being sold by GW. The Skink Priest with a skull staff Tehenhauin Oxyotl 3 different Skink Cheif Models (one with a blow pipe, one with an ornate club, one with a golden sickle) Jungle Swarms Lord Mazdamundi (I know a model was never made for him, but he was still a playable character) Tiktaq'to 7 of these units have an AoS warscroll that, for some reason, was not included in the Seraphon battletome. Skink Priest Tehenhauin Oxyotl 3 Skink Cheifs Jungle Swarms Question 1 Do you think think that whenever GW gets around to making new Seraphon models/units, they will: Update the 7 old models that currently have warscrolls. Create new warscrolls/models for the 2 units that currently do not have them. (Tiktaq'to & Mazdamundi) Update existing units that are currently being sold. A combination of the three. Create something totally new and unrelated to previous models or units. Personally, I think GW will never update any of the 9 units, even though some of them have warscrolls. Instead GW will just release brand new heroes (and warscrolls) that we have not had before. I think in the distant future they might update the design of a few units from the battletome, but will most likely hold this off until they sold all of the old inventory. Question 2 What old models with warscolls would you like to see updated? I would like to see the Cold One mounts get redone. Right now they look like goofy cartoon raptors. I would also them to update the look of the salamanders and their Skink Handlers (they should have whips instead of spears). My favorite heroes are Oxyotl and Tehenhauin, and I think it would be cool if they came out with new designs for them. They could release a new chameleon/skink specific battalion warscroll to go along with Oxyotl. It could have an ability that give skinks aquatic buffs (something that was not carried over from 8th ed.). Tehenhauin could be standing behind an altar that has a mutilated Skaven corpse lying on top of it, while holding up a bloody rat head. My brother plays Skaven, and it is always fun to field the guy who led the mass ritual sacrifice of all the Skaven in Lustria. Question 3 What types of new units would you like to see GW make? As far as new types of units or heroes, I have no idea what they could be, Seraphon are not really lacking in any area. But I am always down for new dinosaurs. Maybe like a giant snake or a giant bug. A massive centipede or dragonfly (both of which actually co-existed with dinosaurs). It is highly unlikely for any of this to happen, but it is always fun to think about!
Seraphon were the first to get a rebase, ideal time to update and introduce new models. I don't think we will get an update until all the other factions have been rebased etc. The dropped models will stay dropped, as too new models, I hope soo but doubt it.
I think you are referring to the Troglodon. I think they will make completely new models, taht we have not seen before, or remake some of the older ones, but I do not think that they will reintroduce any of the removed old models.

Tiktaq'to did have a model in 8th... seeing as how they seem to be making big flashy models these days, I would expect some ridiculously expensive Lord Mazdamundi model.
Yeah I said that Mazdamundi was the one not to have a model. But I do think you are right about GW liking big flashy models, and I could think of nothing more extravagant than having a Slann with a Stegadon mount.
What do you think GW will do whenever it'll get around to making new Seraphon models/units? To me, the first thing GW will (and HAS TO) do is to update some of our core units: Saurus, for example, are the very base of our armies, and those sculpts are really old... Naggas have been "hated" (well, maybe not that much) by lots of people since their release cause of their goofy and stupid look. EVERYONE prefers Dark Aelves naggas, so it would be enough to me to update them! Salamanders and Razordons also have that old look which really clashes with the appearence of the recently released models. Skinks can remain as they are, I think, but the chameleons too would need some sort of update, right? What old models with warscolls would you like to see updated? Honestly? None. Maybe just the Skink Chief, but I'm not a fan of named characters or the others. I'd appreciate a new version of the Swarms, but now that we are mnemonic demons summoned from the sky they wouldn't fit so nicely By the way, we need additional versions of Skink (star)priests. What types of new units would you like to see GW make? Mmh... nice question. We lack catapults and/or units with loooong range. Maybe something like that? I imagine a unit of skinks using some kind of weird-space-mystic greek burning mirror to set enemies on fire, or make use of a single mysterious sacred device able to channel the power of the sun and the moon to either damage the opponent or buff friendly troops! A Seraphon-ish version of the Couldron of Blood, in other words Obviously, assuming there are a sun and a moon to behold somewhere in the Mortal Realms.
I would like to see a kind of snake cavalry, (like the tomb kings ones ) with skinks on. Maybe called Soteks Guard or something? I just think that for the interesting characters that all the skinks are (as opposed to the saurus-robots) they get underplayed in games. I mean, sure, Rippers and Dactyls are brutal. And salamanders and razors are dangerous if you do them right. And chameleons. And skinks are our main long-ranged fighters. But it'd be nice if we got a skink-monster combo that wasn't all "hahaha! Observe my fearsome stegadon! It has -3 rend and flamethrowers! Ahahaha! Oh, it also has 4 4+ 4+ ranged attacks from those little blue guys on top." Even from a fluff perspective, surely three or four skinks have decided to become Elite specialised hand to hand fighters. And if they then asked Soteks for approval, and he gave them each a big cobra to ride, then so much the better.
I love ed Kroq-gar, so I would like to see him return if GW ever did come back and remake some models. I know he was there, but technically it is the oldblood on carnosaur now. Besides nowhere is it stated that he is dead, so who knows where he could have been, i'm thinking something to rival archaon (dreaming of a supernova powered saurus ).
I've been thinking about future releases for months, heck they still owe us that Priestly Trappings Skink Priest model that sits in the book staring away. If Jungle Swarms do come back, they should have them rain from the stars! It's raining snakes and lizards. I read the Sunblood's fluff entry over and over, seems to mention the possibilities of the start of something new, so it could hint towards a Saurus stronger than a Sunblood. I need to think more, I had more speculations but I'm too tired to remember.
Well, yes but with a difference: not 3/4 skinks riding a "living" beast, but let's say 10 skins activate a powerful statue/artifact/monument... To give you an idea: imagine to mix a Arachnarok Spider, a Greasus Goldtooth and a Necron Monolith together Spoiler: Here they are The final effect could be something like a "Macchina Santa Rosa" (google it!) but with the classic Seraphon atmosphere (so astronomical symbols, pre-columbian shapes and so on)! I think I'd buy something like that.
They could actually make anything. What if the slann just thought: Hey! why don't we make a "Insert whatever you want". They just have to imagine it. I can just imagine a Slann meeting Archaon: Oh! I better come up with a counter to you: Summons a lizard-archaon. In that sense, it really seems like the Slann could win the war against chaos whenever they wanted, they are just having fun. I mean they just have to imagine the bane of daemons, and boom, win to the lizards.
I think eventually the remaining "Lizardmen" models will be shuffled to the Last Chance To Buy section and never heard from again. In terms of new models I don't think the basic Seraphon line will be revamped. Like, ever. It's far more likely that we'll see something like the Ironjawz for Orruks - a small "expansion" faction with a standalone book. Some kind of new "evolved" Seraphon will emerge. It's been suggested in the Battletome that the Sunblood is a new creation, a progression of the Seraphon concept rather than re-living the old "memory" units. We might see Battletome: Sunbloods and get a multi kit of big muscular saurus warriors with heavy armour and the options for different weapons, all of epic proportions. They'll be backed up by Sunbloods mounted on mini-carnosaurs leading the charge!
