I just randomly saw zeus on the internet, and then it hit me, Stormcast eternals look a lot like him in a way. Especially the lightning is a striking ;) resemblence.

That lead me to believe that Sigmar is kind of AOS's Zeus, and "that something up in the sky" where the stormcast eternals are, is the Olympus.

Which could mean that since we Lizardmen (Seraphon o_O) are above the Olympus, we would be the Titans, which are the second line of deities, the first being the primordial deities, which then would have to be the old ones.

Olympus was/is a mountain. Just a mountain.

The way they paint the official stormcasts they look like gold-plated living statues.

:sorry:
Like golems.
It isn't very Greek. :muted:

I know, but in Greek mythology, some off the gods lived on the mountain.

That depends on how you look at it. Sure gold plated statues isn't all wrong I can see what you mean, but I am referreing to lightning theme (zeus) that they have, the wings (Hermes) and the halos many of them have. All very godlike-ish.

Also they live in azyr, (high azyr?) would be olympus. it is just a place, like the real olympus, and might as well be something akin to a mountain, it does not really matter.

Some of them also have some feathery adornments on their heads, which is quite similar to what greek soldiers had. (and romans, same shi...thing different names)

Stormcast knigget and the hyper-roided Chaos dude from the other thread are 6 and one half heads tall. Real people are usually 7 heads +

Usually the appropriate measurement to use here is 6 and one half EGGSHELLS tall.

But currently we are measuring things in "hats"

What started the whole hat thing, anyways? ~~that feeling  I missed something~~

It is Warden's hat. (seen from another angle) I'm wearing it in lieu of giving prizes in the last art comp. If you try harder, I could wear a building on my head next time.

They look like Blood Angel sanguinary guards to me, which is appropriate for fantasy space marines made to lure in the 8 year old children and their parents wallets. *cynicism alert*

That was pretty much spot on. Senatus Populusque Romanus (The Roman Senate and People). Used in Constantine's time, maybe earlier I think.

edit: found wiki source!

I always thought the new AOS motif was more in line with Norse Mythology, what with the different realm-worlds and stuff. Sigmar seemed more like the god Thor, but obviously their are Zeus-Jupiter parallels too.

The idea of the Lizardmen being like the Titans is pretty cool, except for the part where Zeus overthrows his titan father Kronos by cutting him up and making him vomit up his brother gods and goddesses. Maybe a fluff story concerning another war in heaven with the Lizardmen vs. Sigmar is in order?
