    That looks amazing. :D

    Ps. I find mixes of slate blue, tan, and browns make for realistic rock colors.

    Very nice work!

    Could you expand on how you made your river look so good? I'd love to do something like that on my basing work.

    Thank you for posting such a detailed step-by-step process for making your basesss! And for putting the materials you used for water basing. Amazing work, you are inspiring those of us who haven't based their lizardmen yet to start working harder... :shifty:

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    Beautiful terrain and basing always makes things better and you have done a superb job.

    Thank you guys! :) :)

    @NIGHTBRINGER
    I don't know... its just a base colour of brown (the same as outside the river) with a little tint of beep blue (Airbrush) and then Gloss Varnish.
    Then its two layers of Vallejo Still Water and that's it.

    I'm not 100% happy with the result, the Still Water shrinks too much, I need to go into the resin based water effects to give it a real realistic look to it, adding more depth and being able to see submerged stuff inside!
    But for this base (and since the big lizard that is going on top is so fat that covers the majority of the base anyway) it will stay like this...

    You can usually get raw cork from craft or pet stores.

    The detail on these bases is absolutely amazing! I love the little shrubs and flowers. I'll definitely be bookmarking this for when I (finally) paint some of my wife's Aelfs.

    Wow really cool basing tutorials, I tried a similar thing to the first one but only used a few scrubs, mine unfortunately did not then out as nicely.

    Basing is something that, unfortunately, has never been on my radar but it must be said that is an incredible result!

    Thank you for detailing the entire process step-by-step. If I attempt something down the line I'll definitely use this as a reference.

    This looks awesome, however I am worried about the 8th edition Saurus ranking up with that much foliage on the base, do you know if the interlocking tails get in the way?
