Began work about three weeks ago on my Saurus Warrior units, I have some more recent pictures but I have yet to upload those.

Did a black undercoat with a nice, deep green for the backs

I am hoping to get some better lighting soon but this is the green after a small amount of drybrushing

Looks great! An awesome start to an army. Can't wait to see more!

I have a set of cold one riders in the works, unfortunately their paint job came out a bit messy so I have some stuff to refine on them quite a bit!

The Saurus warriors have since been finished but the skinks came out vastly superior to them so they may be due for quite a bit of touch up. They should be up in a few days.

Okay actually updating this thread because since its posting the Saurus, CO riders and Skinks have been finished. Gonna do three posts so its not so eye burning so here we go:

The problem my Saurus (and CO riders faced) was the fact I used a glossy base coat. That was a terrible idea but here we go it happened.

He was the first one I properly put together and painted

And now onto the Unmitigated Disaster Squad a.k.a my CO riders
I learned two valuable lessons from this, A) it helps to have a color scheme in mind before diving into something B) Paint the rider character and mount separately and you probably saved yourself five hours of fumbling.

Now when I do do another batch of these I am going to keep a similar color scheme, just this time I will know what I am doing: yellow top, cream stomach and some form of orange striping

Couldn't get a very good shot but the eyes on the drum are Warpstone Green with the teeth painted copper

But the standard came out good!

And some how after all that I managed to get the skinks together quite well! They are the unit I am most proud of to date so far!

So now I am looking to potentially grab another set of Saurus in lieu of the Kroxigors I have been hungering after and see how I can improve!

But for right now working on two other unrelated painting projects

Oh, I thought steam punk handbag with power-axe blade. what every gal needs.

I concur on that I must say. Guess I just gotta make one!

As i have not updated this in ages, considering my next piece of my army is being painted for the Golden Serpent competition (don't worry WIPs a plenty when we can share!) I bugged the boyfriend (actually no just sorta casually asked) if I could post a picture of his Tyranids and any Skaven he had, just to show em off.

I got a resounding yes from him and without further ado I present his Hivefleet Oculus and my favorite three models from the group!

Cool Tyranid army. They were always one of my favourites from 40k (after Necrons of course!).

Yeah he put a lot of effort into those guys, repainted that whole army from scratch in about a year or so? Then he is currently working on some larger models. Basically he's got me started back into Warhammer and he's given me a lot of painting advice, I owe a lot of my hobby stuff to him.

That's very good progress.

It's good to have someone that you can learn from.

So who wins your games?

Well we haven't had a chance to play against each other yet because his fantasy army is in shambles and my 40k army is just starting, but once he gets his skaven or orcs in order we're going to do some skirmishing. His Tyranids have been his main focus though.

I know someone with a great deal of painted tyranids :P

WOW that's some nice work I really like steampunk stuff I have been meaning to make some myself, but I have a few expensive hobbies and with a skink on the way can't have too much small sharp things around the house

Nice army, I keep thinking should I just collect a few 40k just because.
