Looking good so far. Not really sure what to suggest except to replace his arm feathers with socks, since that is where you found it!

    Very nice work! :)

The only advice I would offer is to start painting the most plentiful areas with a base coat first (in this case the skin, on a Chaos or Dwarf warrior it would be armour). Since that represents the greatest physical area on the model, you'll save a bit of time because you won't have to worry about getting some of the paint on the decorative bits (because you'll paint over them later anyways). As it stands now, you'll have to paint much more carefully and slowly so as to not ruin your previous work.

Not sure if that is of any help; that's just how it was once explained to me... I'm definitely not an expert. :p

Thanks for the your advice @NIGHTBRINGER I'm always a bit chaotic when painting my minis... Should have really done other things before I did the feathers...

Here the hopefully last wip pics of my first saurus unit
    WP_20160716_22_39_45_Pro.jpg WP_20160716_22_39_22_Pro.jpg
And another idea I had are what I call first rankers ;) simple modifications for models meant to be placed in the first rank of the unit...
    WP_20160716_22_41_24_Pro.jpg
And last but not least the champion for my second saurus unit

I do like a good feathered cap! These guys look great and the front line idea is brilliant.

I also like your use of feathers. All the orange feathers on your first saurus unit really tie it together despite the different saurus colorings themselves! Was this part of the Great Plan all along?

I also like the first-ranker modification, that will add some extra pizazz to the unit when it is ranked up.

That's an awesome find! Always wanted a not-Robin Hood (so I converted my own from spare bretonnian bits).

I didn't realize the old model was in plastic??!?

So number four gets the colour scheme of number one (just in better ;) ) while number one becomes grey and gets tortured with badly painted feathers making his headdress heavier and heavier with every layer of paint on them... ;)

    I'm learning to paint feathers...
    WP_20160723_22_13_32_Pro.jpg WP_20160723_22_13_47_Pro.jpg

Edit: Also changed the colouration of number three's feathers... Went for a more fiery flame like colour...

A group shot of my priests... One (number two) is missing, cause he's having a bath to get off the paint...
    WP_20160728_01_45_49_Pro.jpg
And some close ups of number four...

I think you will paint his claws black with white dry brush highlights... The staff might get blue shades and grey and white highlights and a blue glaze as finish... Any thoughts, suggestions or comments?

No models (due to contest rules and low painting activity cause of house move...) But found some time to paint something else together with the little one...

I really like the red/orange skink priest it has a molten feel to it - jealous of the colour scheme

Copy if you like it! ;) will try to recover how I did it... Should take notes some time...;) I guess I started with sqig orange on the skin and red scales... Several washes with seraphim sepia and dry brushing in basecolors... Some time later I added highlights in fire dragon orange... And toned them down with agrax earth... Oh... Forgot the yellow underside. Metals were also washed with sepia... For the feathers I used the same colours... Based red or yellow and washed then (not so)dry brushed and painted the tip to add the other colour ...
Well that's what I remember... Really should take notes... ;)
